I had several questions about the infamously tricky firearm LTC application process here in Massachusetts. Neil patiently answered all of my questions, provided me with good advice, and pointed me to additional resources.

I was in dire legal trouble and it felt like the deck was stacked against me until I consulted Neil's professional legal advice the day after making one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Ultimately, I would go on to hire Neil to represent me in court. The case took a long time to resolve but I continued to have faith in Neil's abilities because he displayed incredible resolve and poise during legal proceedings. Communication outside of court was concise and effective; Neil never kept me on edge with hypothetical scenarios even though I was generating 'Law and Order' plot twists on a regular basis. He only disclosed necessary information and it was always objective and direct. After several months of hearings we were able to reach the most favorable outcome that would not affect my career aspirations and second amendment rights.

On the recommendation of Gun Owner’s Action League I contacted Atty. Tassel to assist me with re-securing an LTC after I had lost the license due to a misdemeanor OUI conviction. Apparently, the original attorney who represented me was neither vigorous nor thorough in my defense. Atty. Tassel submitted a motion to withdraw my plea due to the ineffective representation I received from my prior counsel. Not only was it allowed, but the District Attorney ultimately chose not to pursue the case any further. There are no further roadblocks to having my LTC re-issued. Prior to being directed to Atty. Tassel I had contacted other lawyers regarding this issue. They were all dismissive of my case and told me it was a waste of time. Had I listened to those attorneys I would not have had a satisfactory resolution to this case and would still have the conviction on my record. Atty. Tassel far exceeded my expectations. I recommend him without reservation. He delivers positive results.

Mr. Tassel was able to communicate effectively with the DA on my behalf, even enlightening them on some of the finer points of MA gun laws. Specifically because of this my case was dismissed. After speaking with a couple attorneys to defend me in my matter, I decided to go with Attorney Neil Tassel. I spoke with him on the phone a couple times beforehand, and he made me very comfortable. Neil is an outstanding attorney who is quick on his feet. I met Neil waiting outside of Court one morning for an unexpected, last minute hearing. We casually struck up a conversation and I told him about my situation and that I hadn’t had time to hire an attorney before my hearing that morning and told him I didn’t know what to do. Neil grasped all of the facts of my case quickly and thoroughly and represented me that morning until the conclusion of my case months later with a successful result. Neil is intelligent, pragmatic and straightforward—he doesn’t hide the ball and is very transparent with his process, legal advice and strategy. Neil is not only a great attorney, but is also a kind and compassionate individual. Neil was invested in my case and always made me feel like a priority when I had questions or concerns. Neil was highly recommended to me by the folks over at the Gun Owner's Action League (GOAL), and they were spot on! Just out of Highschool I got in trouble for something stupid and I plead to a Misdemeanor offense. In 1993 I was able to get a FID Card and my CORI report reflected the Misdemeanor conviction, but I was denied an LTC. In February of 2020, my FID renewal was denied for a Felony conviction, which was actually the Misdemeanor. I tried explaining to them that I only had a Misdemeanor, but to no avail, I was rejected as a Felon. I contacted Neil who came to my local courthouse to hand search through a massive amount of records and only finding limited information on my case, not enough to clearly show the error. Because of the lack of documentation, Neil had to write a lengthy argument as to why my conviction was bogus and should be vacated, sighting 12 case law instances in support of his argument. Well, the court totally agreed with Neil's argument and dismissed my conviction, and even vacated the charges. Thanks to Neil, I now have zero convictions on my record, and will now be applying for my LTC! Thank You Neil, you're the best!!!

Neil’s knowledge of the laws in Massachusetts was outstanding and he took the time to really talk to me about my case and have all the facts. He was also extremely professional. If anyone has any legal issues, I highly recommend him.
