I retained attorney Marie E. Reidy after speaking with two other attorneys and with other professionals in the field. My priority and sole concern was with the custody and welfare of my daughter. On the personal level Marie understood my concerns and made them hers. As an attorney Marie listens. That is not a skill that I take for granted and not one that every attorney shares equally. Marie is also empathetic. It is easy at times to see how clients could become case numbers. Not once during the entire legal process and my engagement with Marie did I feel that way. Years after the settlement Marie contacted me simply to ask how my daughter was doing. On the professional level I can comment on a few observations. First, I noticed that Marie was well liked and respected by fellow attorneys, including opposing counsel and court officers. This is a reflection on her character and demeanor. Secondly, Marie is detail oriented and organized. The importance of these skills cannot be over emphasized. These are skills that may not be fully appreciated until you see what things look like in their absence. Thirdly, Marie's communication skills both in the court room and with me personally were exceptional. As a worried dad my communications with Marie via phone, email and in person were frequent. I received a response either the same day or the following day. I commend her for this. For an divorce attorney, when children are involved, it is crucial that the attorney have a complete understanding of the role that a GAL (Guardian Ad Litem) may play in the case. Marie exhibited extensive knowledge and experience when it involved the role of the GAL in our case. This was one of many factors that contributed to the positive outcome of my case and ultimately the well being of my daughter. I think that you need three things to be an effective attorney for a client. Foremost you need an understanding of the law. Secondly you need a sharp intellect. And third it is imperative that you are able to articulate your knowledge of the law and what is in the best interest of your client when you are in the court room facing opposing counsel and pleading your case before the judge. Marie has exhibited all three of these skills, along with other positive personal traits. These combined are what make Marie an excellent attorney, and one that I would use again. The fee structure for Marie's service was clear and laid out in detail in advance of signing a retainer. The billing was fair and honest and my position was respected. For the reasons I have stated above I would wholeheartedly and without reservation give my recommendation to anyone who is considering retaining Marie Reidy as their attorney.

I hired Marie to represent me in my divorce and would recommend her wholeheartedly.
