I first met Marian Faupel as a client. She helped me navigate through a very trying legal (and personal) time. Unlike many attorneys I have met, she is far more focused on 'how are you doing?' and 'how are your kids doing?' than billing. She devotes a lot of time to considering the downstream impacts of divorce on family, which in the end are far more important than money and property. Marian excels at managing situations, knowing when to be firm and when to compromise. The associate attorneys in her firm, especially Sandy Musser, are similarly excellent. I highly recommend.

Marian has represented me through a very acrimonious divorce, which included an eight-day trial, multiple court appearances related to motions and show-cause hearings and an appeal before the Michigan Court of Appeals. The outcomes have been favorable - I was awarded sole physical and legal custody of my two young children, and this decision was upheld by the Michigan Court of Appeals. Marian Faupel is one of the best family law attorneys in the state. She is a strong attorney with not only excellent legal knowledge but with a compassionate heart. She teaches law at Wayne State so I appreciate that she explains the process and different options you can make when going through a divorce and\or child custody. There is strategy and a road map she brings with lots of experience behind those choices.
