I received 2 tickets within a month! The first was a speeding ticket with my car, and Glenn was able to get it down to impeding traffic! My second was a Careless driving ticket with my motorcycle, and he got it down to a 1 point speeding ticket!! I highly recommend him! I will definitely use him again next month!

AMAZING Service. Just before Christmas I got into an incident where a driver continued to accelerate and break in front of me as we were in a turning lane, where we had the right of way to go, which caused a fender bender. This had to be the WORST Christmas gift I could receive. I was so stressed because my life was on the right track, I had gotten a steady pace in my job with hours and an income increase, etc. I thought it was going to be a simple ticket, but it wasn't. I got a failure to clear an assured distance accident ticket, even though I was driving safe and secure, and there was no way I could avoid the person in front of me accelerating and going in the turning lane. The next day my cat died. Additionally, previously, I had just got a new car and because of it my car insurance had increased, so I didn't need any increase in expenses or stress. I did my research and saw that the McCandliss law firm handles cases like this. I sent a message to inquire about their services, I received a phone call with a voicemail and a text (BONUS) that followed up with my specific inquiry (Which is rare, services tend to ask you to repeat your inquiry as if they didn't read it in the 1st place), which impressed me. I'm introverted, so sometimes handling business over the phone is a bit uncomfortable. I also received an email. I was asked about a follow-up phone call, and was also given the option to finish business via email or text, I opted for email. This was great for me because I work full-time long hours, and help out with my younger sister. I spoke to Lisa via email, and she told me what to expect, said that she believes Mr. McCandliss could get me out of my ticket pretty easily, and quoted me a price, with a discount from using their website. NOTE: The pricing is VERY reasonable, and of course, winning would save me thousands in car insurance. I made the payment about a week later, and that was it. Mr. Candliss quickly scheduled me a court date, which was 1-2 months away, so I got to be stress-free over Christmas and New Years. I didn't even have to go to the court date. Approaching, the court date, I was a bit nervous because I hadn't spoken to Mr. Candliss over the phone, but I was assured all the information she had gathered from me was prior was adequate, and I would be called on the court day, more than likely. The day came, and within an hour, I was called, and a voicemail was left since I was unavailable taking my sister to work. I was given the potential solution, an amendment, I agreed to it, and that was it. The case was thrown out and I got a much lesser charge that I can deal with. Lisa and Mr. Candliss really saved the day. I could not afford the cost of a higher insurance rate, and the potential to not drive because my job depends on it, and I am my younger sister's transportation to work. Lisa was so nice, and was so professional. Mr. Candliss told me after I agreed to the amendment that I would receive an email about it, with the payment instructions for the lesser amendment charge. I received that email QUICKLY, like within an hour, with pictures of the paperwork for the case of the amendment charge, a scan from the court of the amendment, etc. The BEST business I've ever done. Money, well spent! As a black man in America, I'm often scared that justice will not work in my favor, but for once, I am confident that good things to help to good people, and with the right lawyer, you can fight on the side of justice and win. If you come across their services, use them. I have recommended all my friends who may need McCandliss' firm's law services.

Glenn McCandliss was a key part of getting my license back after having it revoked for over one year. His office is very responsive to any questions or concerns that I had along the way, and always responded promptly. I have had - and heard about from others - some very poor experiences with lawyers, who - although they may have done some good work - really leave their clients feeling like they are hanging out in the wind; they charge far too much, and then fail to communicate, and spend almost zero time in helping their clients prepare to approach their hearings and court dates with confidence. Glenn was the opposite of all that, and I would recommend him to anyone with drivers license issues.

Mr. Bieber has handled my personal affairs (will, trust, miscellaneous matters) and the legal needs for my business (sale of one business and refinancing of another). He is attentive, well organized, and intelligent. Mr. Bieber does not drag out issues, but completes his work ahead of schedule. He is extremely fair in his fees. In fact, an attorney of this caliber, should probably charge more than he does. I highly recommend Walter Bieber as a personal or business attorney.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Center Line, Michigan?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
