Zach Hallman helped me with a serious case, when I thought there was no hope for me winning!!! He showed the Defendant that there tactics were not going to work!!!! And We won that case... In a other legal matter I asked for his advice, even though he didn't know the answer???? He call someone for me that did now the answer, and he was able to help me out again!!!! This firm is a complete and utter joke. Where to begin...First off, Odey was the attorney who accepted my case and made me feel that he's well versed in real estate matters because he "just handled a similar case and killed it". I was promised by Odey that he would work harder than anyone I've ever seen for the "fee" I had to pay upfront. Yea that didn't happen at all. To say that the communication via the firm and myself was terrible is a complete understatement. It took almost 5 months after I paid $3000+ for this case to actually be filed and sent to the court and to be served to the defendant. And it would have taken even longer if I was not calling every week. I was instructed on 3 different occasions in the very beginning of all this to come up (mind you I live 35 minutes away) and sign papers that I needed to sign but when I got there the papers weren't ready to sign and Odey was not in the office. Now lets move on to the discovery phase of my case. Given that this was a property line dispute, you would think the attorney would come out and physically see the property being disputed. This never happened. Odey only relied on my pictures I gave him. Moving on to the depositions, the deposition of my neighbor was finally scheduled and I wanted to be present to make sure all the questions were covered but this firm gave me the wrong location (Dearborn and it was in Milan), I was not able to make it in time. The next deposition was scheduled for my other neighbor and this testimony was extremely valuable to the case. I was able to be present this time and I was looking forward to this. Now comes Zach Hallman, he was the attorney taking the deposition because Odey "isn't the best at these" per Odey himself. So now I have a new attorney who I never spoke to about this particular case up to this point taking a deposition. Come to find out, the court reporter was not notified nor scheduled so we all sat there, including the defendants attorney, waiting to get started only to be told there was no court reporter coming. Completely and utterly ridicuous. This mistake however, was blamed on "another" fired assistant not doing their job. Needless to say, this deposition was rescheduled at least 3 times because it kept getting moved back and back by Odey. The date was finally set and one night I get a late call from Zach saying the defendants attorney filed a motion for summery disposition and the court date is in 4 days. I was beyond shocked. Odey told me nothing and turns our he knew about this for over 3 weeks at this point. I was told that the defending attorney doesn't know what he's doing and he's not following the order of things. Turns out he was completely in the right and filed this motion correctly because Odey missed the discovery deadline and did never filed a motion to extend it. So now, I was literally going in front of a judge with barely any evidence on file. And in case you don't know, after a motion for summary disposition is filed, the other attorney is suppose to file a response to this and send it to the court. This response is suppose to be filed within 1 week before the court date. Well guess what, Odey failed to meet that deadline too and filed it less than 1 day before the court date. The first thing the judge did was scold Odey. Great start. Well I did not win my case. The judge shut it down. Naturally, the next thing to do is file an appeal right? Well you have to file an appeal within a specific timeframe before its too late and back then I was not too familiar with all of this and I was not told by my attorney about this until it was too late. I was robbed of being able to file the appeal. During this time, the defendants apparently filed another motion for attorney fees. I was never told about this either until the last minute. I go to this court date and Zach shows up to represent me (not Odey). Well, we lost that motion as well and now the case is being called "frivolous". So I had to pay my neighbor over $9000 in attorney fees because my case had "insufficient evidence". Never again.
