Failed to explain pleas case should of been dismissed. Would not recommend to anyone

Joe Lavigne is an exceptional attorney and an even better human being. He's extremely compassionate, uber-responsive and highly intelligent. He is even a resource for the police community and trains officers on the utilization and dynamics of the DataMaster Breathalyzer. My OWI was high profile and involved an accident. I needed the best representation possible. I thought I did my homework interviewing more than 6 locally based attorneys, because I felt that was necessary given the accident and the "homer" culture of the community. I hired someone who advertises a ton and claims to be the best. The reviews looked good. But his arrogance and lack of compassion showed through after I paid him, so I moved on. Then, I hired another attorney who was recommended due to his connections to the judges. I thought that was extremely important, so I hired and paid him too. This guy, however, was consistently unresponsive. He even put in a substitute attorney for a video hearing! But then I learned about Joe and hired him, despite feeling backed into a corner because of the locality. I made a lot of mistakes in this process but one thing is clear: It does not matter where you are in Michigan, local representation does not matter. It can actually even hurt you, since some attorneys put themselves and their community relationships first. You need someone who is smart, thorough, responsive, compassionate and gets the job done. Understanding of the law is what matters! Joe Lavigne is all of that and more. He delivers results!

The best decision I ever made was hiring Joe Lavigne. His negotiation skills are unmatched and he is extremely professional and courteous with all parties when it comes to handling matters in a case. Joe managed to take a felony case punishable by a minimum of 25 years in prison down to a lesser charge with a 6 month probation period with dismissal of all charges upon completion of probation. He does not push you to make any decision you do not want to make, but will give you all of the facts and perspectives so that you can make a fully educated decision on where to take the case. You can tell he truly cares for his clients and is committed to doing whatever needs to be done to get a favorable outcome. Every time I met with Joe or was with him in court I always felt calm and collected knowing he was by my side during this trying ordeal. Hire this man. You will NOT regret it.

In the recent past I encountered a somewhat sticky traffic matter that arose from a past issue. I was referred to attorney Joe Lavigne by another attorney, which conferred some benefit and gravitas in my opinion. Mr. Lavigne met with me in a comfortable setting after multiple phone calls of discussion on my traffic dilemma. He handled all matters with professionalism and a degree of reassurance. On our pre-trial court date, my issue was not only unexpectedly resolved but done so with great and favorable outcomes. The issue never did proceed to court trial and was pleasantly done with on that day! I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Lavigne's services in this realm and while all matters may not resolve this satisfactorily, it will not be for his lack of effort and preparation. On a personal note: I found Mr. Lavigne to be earnest, honest, and not at all self-impressed or judgemental.

I wanted to use this platform to recommend Mr. Lavigne for his professional services and thank him for helping me to recover my investment back after I made a bad business “deal” using 100% of my money. I did not have proper legal protection going in. Mr. Lavigne’s counsel, professionalism, and patience helped resolve my matter with a good outcome – as good as could be expected. He helped me reestablish leverage and validate my claims. I would certainly use Mr. Lavigne again, however, before entering into a legal arrangement. I was referred to Mr. Lavigne and am now forwarding that referral to others.

Joe was very professional. At first meeting he explained his background and qualification. After we discussed our case and then he explained all possible outcomes. After we discussed likely outcomes and next steps. He was always very quick to respond to any text or email. Very professional at court house and helped give everyone as much as a sense of calm as possible. He was also personable, not stiff, and we discussed items outside of our case. I would recommend Joe to ANYONE, couldn't ask for better representation.

Arrested for an OWI and was recommended to contact Mr. Lavigne by a family member whom was also a former colleague of his. During the initial meeting, Mr. Lavigne detailed what I could be facing and was very straightforward as to how a case of my nature could end. He was very honest and seemed to actually care about me not only as a client, but on a personal level as well. Mr. Lavigne always responded to all questions I had in a very prompt and professional matter. The end result of the case was better than any could have imagined. The judge rendered a very minor probation sentence with no community service and occasional alcohol and drug testing during the probation period along with attending only 1 meeting within the first 60 days of sentencing. I was ecstatic and continue to be very appreciative of the time Mr. Lavigne spent on my case. I would recommend Mr. Lavigne and his firm to all of my family and anyone who is looking for one of best at his trade.

I hired Joseph after a drunk driving incident. An old family friend had amazing results with him and referred me to him. In our initial meeting he made it very clear of what I could be facing legally and was very realistic with how these cases usually end. I totally respect Joseph for not trying to sugar coat his responses and just being as straight forward as possible with his answers. When it came time to go to court, Joseph was always there waiting at the front of the line and got me in and out of court very quickly. When our first pretrial did not end well, he was quick to provide a strategy to try for a better result. While it was a gamble, it was well worth it when I got a plea deal that was better than we were expecting. When I was finally facing the judge for sentencing Joseph helped make me feel more at ease by explaining the usual court room procedure and reassuring me that he had confidence in my responses if the judge were to ask me any questions. In the end we left the court room with a result that was much better than I had been hoping for. I can not imagine what this whole experience would have been like without Joseph to guide me through the process. I felt that he really understood my moral character and helped me remember that we all make mistakes. If you're looking for an honest lawyer who will truly have your best interest in mind then look no further.

Our family had a weapons charge passing through the airport. We had no idea what we were carrying was illegal. It was a very high risk case with the possibility of a felony. Joseph A. Lavigne was very familiar with the court staff and he was able to impress upon them that we made an unfortunate mistake and that we were nieve with perfectly clean records. The result was fantastic. After six months of good behavior, the charges were dropped. He did an excellent job staying on top of the paperwork until the case was closed.

I hired joe a few months ago because I needed a good lawyer to help my case and I was referred to him a few years back from a family friend . Its nice to see someone who actually is always there and you can call him and talk to him about your case anytime of the day. He knows what he’s doing and he’s damn good at that. If I would have never hired joe , my life would be a lot worst then what it is right now. Joe is a miracle worker and well bend his back over over until it breaks to get you the best possible outcome he can. He worked super hard for me and I will forever be grateful. Hopefully I won’t need him again so I can keep my life on the right tracks but if I ever make a mistake again because eveyone makes mistakes, he will be the first person I call.

Joe (and his staff) were an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, explained my position and possible options/outcomes, while communicating the process I should expect. I took his advice, followed his lead and had a stunningly favorable outcome to my case. I strongly endorse Joe and his team!

Mr. Lavigne was amazing to work with. He came in the middle of the case and really saved the day. He really took the time to understand the situation for the best result possible. He is extremely knowledgeable and versed in the law. Additionally, he is very familiar with courtroom procedure. He is very fair with his billing and did not over charge for any services. I would recommend him.
