In 2010, I was terminated illegally by my employer. I found Sam on AVVO and met with him to talk about my situation. There was a top manager who - for whatever reason - didn't like me. I'd been with the company nearly 15 years and always got stellar reviews. This manager tried to get the HR Manager to fire me, but she refused because there was no reason. So he got someone from the Corporate office to do the deed. I think they call that a "Cat's Paw" case. The company doesn't like public attention, likes to keep a low profile, but is a huge, international company traded on the NYSE. I was determined to take the matter all the way to court and let a jury decide whether the company had done anything wrong, because I'm sure a jury would have been sickened by how I'd been treated. But Sam convinced me the best thing to do was to settle (6-figures) and be done with it. Sam negotiated a reasonable settlement for me and I got to move on with my life. Although the company didn't fire the scuzzy manager who got me fired, I do know that he's been sidelined, not allowed to make management decisions because he has no common sense. That was more a victory than the $, to me, because this manager has ZERO skills to sell himself outside the company he's with, so he has no options. Haha! Success! Thank you, Sam!
