I do not reccomend this firm! They are a bunch of greedy lying used car salesmen who do not care about their clients needs or wellbeing. I was lied to numerous times by this firm and after speaking to my auto insurance company that they told me not to speak to I confirmed that they were lying to me and didn't care about my care. This firm never submitted my claim and constantly lied to me about submitting my forms to find out they lied in the name of greed because in michigan they do not get a cut of lost wages or attentive care. So when they sue yhe insurance company that money comes in the settlemt and they sue for that mkneu and now they get a cut. I call that greedy. This firm neglected my wellbeing and lied about everything from day 1. I was involved in a hit and run accident on May 10th 2023 where I suffered a concussion and a closed head traumatic brain injury. On May 11th I was at DWFN PLC signing documents under duress that even to this day my attorney would not give me copies of anything I signed. They even told me not to Date the forms I signed for who knows what reason. I do not recommend this unprofessional lying manipulative greedy firm to anyone not even my worst enemy. I have been struggling and had made my case manager and my attorney aware how important it was to get my lost wages forms turnd in due to the accident disabled me and rendered me unable to work. Well due to this firms lies and neglect of my care and the services they promised to perform I am unable to give my daughter the Christmas she was hoping for. Please do your self a favor and stay far far away from this firm.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS FIRM TO MY WORST ENEMY. THIS FIRM IS FULL OF LIARS AND MANIPULATORS AND VERY VERY GREEDY BAD EVIL PEOPLE. I AM A SINGLE DISABLED FEMALE AND THE ATTORNEY I HAD ANDREA AND DAN HAD LIED TO ME AND RISKED MY HEALTH AND WELLBEING. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NECESSARY I HAVE A CASE MANAGER HIS NAME IS WILL AND WAS TOLD I HAD TO GO TO THEIR DOCTORS NOT MINE. I WAS TOLD I NEED TO CANCEL ALL MY DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS AND HAVE TO GO TO THEIR DOCTORS. THEY SAID IT WAS NECESSARY TO MY AUTO ACCIDENT CASE. I WAS INVOLVED IN A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT IN MAY AND MY BOYFRIEND RECOMMENDED THIS FIRM. WELL THEY HAD ME SIGN FORMS UNDER DURESS AND WOULD NOT GIVE ME COPIES OF THE FORMS. THIS HAPPENED THE DAY AFTER THE ACCIDENT AFTER I SUFFERED FROM A CLOSED HEAD INJURY AND A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY CONFIRMED FROM MY NEUROLOGIST AND THE EMERGENCY ROOM THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT. I am contacting the ADA and the state of Michigan to make them aware of this firm and the illegal activity they tried to pull on a single disabled female mother. Please do your self a favor and stay far far away from this greedy lying manipulative firm!

If it was possible to write a 0 star review I would. The most unprofessional lawyer I have ever seen in my life. The man wants to argue about stepping in his property line as I was cleaning the windows to the building next door. What kind of person hires this little guy who is mad at the world ? After my 1 and only experience I wouldn't ever consider or let anyone consider such a bitter bitter person to take their case. The interaction, hi how are you? Who are you?I'm washing the windows (me holding a long stick with a squeegee) you see this grass that part you can step on here you cannot so I show 5 inches back asking here..he said no. What if I have to go back to get the window clean? Then I'll call the cops..what an &$&#^.... great example for your business which is NEXT DOOR. Apparently everyone has had the same negative experience with this guy . Not sure which of the partners he is, but he's apparently a owner or the owner.b he's short and chubby looking ?

Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
