I was told that they were real good at their job, they were good at taking your money. Email aegatian or litigation she sat there like a lump on the log. We were in the process of suing a construction company we had problems big problems then Tracy refer us to another contractor to clean up the mess that the 1st company did and at 1st he was working out well and then he used $3500 of our money for his lawsuit or bills did note by our tile at all left the house unfinished electrical floors bathroom never finished. Then she told us she had a talk with her professor that she Had in college for ethics in supposably he told her that she had to drop one of her clients either us or Ascot home improvement she chose Not to help us after we paid them $3000 plus another $700 for some retired judge who was senile. Not a pleasant experience with that company I'm pretty sure that we were just a fill in. Ascott home services was referred by mormando law had work done to their house and it was not a good job so they hierd Scott Brooks to finish or corrected. Well of course Scott Brooks did a good job for them they are lawyers and I did not know they were representing him a lawsuits so they got rid of me talking about ethics and the ethics was that Scott Brooks was making them more money than I was that's mormando ethics

Working with Tracey has been an absolute pleasure. She is very professional, but at the same time, gets connected with you on a comfortable, personal level. She listens, is extremely reasonable, and understandable. She kept me abreast of all pertinent information and worked with me diligently to reach the same goals. She was knowledgeable, relatable, determined and effective attorney who delivered the exact results I needed. I was extremely pleased with my outcome and would not hesitate to recommend her for any legal need. I hired Jeffrey Saunders for my estate planning. I couldn't have been more pleased. He not only did what I hired him to do, but he filled out and mailed numerous forms that I assumed I would have to do. The whole experience was not only rewarding, but reasonable. I would recommend Jeffrey to anyone.

We hired Jeffrey Saunders over 20 years ago to complete our first living trust, this last month, we again hired Jeffrey to complete an update to our trust. He is well-educated in estate planning, very professional in his work, and a lawyer who wants to help his clients. His paralegal Cindy is still working with him, we remember her from 20 years ago, she is efficient and always available to answer any questions. We believe keeping staff for this long is a testament to the type of person Jeffrey Saunders is. We recommend Mr. Saunders to all of your friends and family.

Mr. Bagazinski was great during the closing for the purchase of my home. For my wife and I, this was our first home purchase. He was very knowledgeable on what to look for within the documents to make sure everything was done correctly. He took the time to explain each document to us. This gave us a great peace of mind that everything was done correctly. He answered all the of questions we had. Our closing experience was made much easier having him with us. I would highly recommend Gerald Bagazinski.

Prior to meeting Melissa, I was in desperate need of support from my bankbruptcy attorneys. I had retired early from my job due to medical reasons and my SS didn't begin until 5 months later. I tried to explain the financial issues to my attorneys: I emailed both of them and tried to contact them on the phone. My calls were not once answered or returned. Neither were the several (rather desparate ) emails I sent to both, explaining the changes in my circumstances and that I was unable to pay the Court until I received my retroactive Social Security payments. After 60 days with no contact from them, I called the trustee's office , discussed my situation and was sent a listing of attorneys in my area. I feel that I am extremely fortunate that I selected Melissa's firm (Charles Schneider). My appointment was scheduled within a couple of days of my initial call, my prior case notes were discussed with me and my options on how best to proceed were carefully explained. After followup calls and appointments with Melissa, my case was reviewed by the Court. Bottom line: My case issues were all resolved and Melissa also negotiated more affordable monthly payments due to my retirement and reduced income. I cannot praise her efforts and support enough!

Going through any bankruptcy is not easy. But Melissa made it less painful. Her excellent knowledge of the law and the inner workings of the bankruptcy court was key in helping us to file, maintain, and finally complete our bankruptcy. Near the end of our bankruptcy due my wife being forced to retire and we losing half of our income we were forced to request a modification. Melissa took on this challenge, negotiating with our remaining creditors and the trustee for an approved modification to our plan that was acceptable to all parties involved, helped us avoid incurring new debt in the process. I highly recommend this attorney if you are faced with bankruptcy. Communication with , and compassion for the client are two things that Melissa excelled at. She exceeded my expectations.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Livonia, Michigan?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
