Although he kept me well informed about my case I just might have been the dumbest man that I possibly could have chosen to represent me. Aside from that,He is a very kind man and incredibly easy to get along with, but nice doesn't win cases.

Mrs. McCluskey prepared mine and my husband's first estate planning documents, including Wills, Powers of Attorneys and a Trust. She spent a lot of time with us discussing what we wanted as well as explaining in detail her recommendations and how they would help us achieve our goals. During the Will signing she was happy to answer any additional questions we had and was very clear on what we were signing. Finally, she also instructed us on how to fund the Trust and the importance of following through with those steps. It was a very informative and simple process, we sleep better knowing our children will not have to clean up any messes and our intentions are clear.

Above all else, Danielle McCluskey knows her business. When my husband became seriously ill and was unable to continue overseeing our affairs, she listened to our requests, questions, and needs and formulated a document that fit us perfectly at that time. And when our needs and wishes changed, she worked patiently to adapt our document for another perfect fit, even suggesting some solutions that we had not previously considered. We feel confident that no matter what tomorrow brings, our wishes regarding our estate will be carried out.

I was referred to Mr. Anderson by the Bar Association & from the beginning Mr. Anderson listened!! During these tumultuous days for my family he was patient, knowledgeable, resourceful, understanding, legal representation with Mr. Anderson has made us feel with his representation our best interest will be of utmost importance & justice will prevail. As a legal advisor he explains everything. Our family recommends Mr. Anderson highly, & I have to note we had other legal counsel whom just wanted to do all the talking & no listening needless to say the other attorney was dismissed. Your family will be represented properly & your questions will be answered, providing relief in stressful times. The Galarneau family..

I had the pleasure of working with Spencer Bondy as my criminal defense attorney, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience and outcome. Spencer is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable in the field of criminal law, but he also brings a remarkable level of care and empathy to his practice. From our first meeting, he made me feel heard and understood, addressing all my concerns with patience and genuine compassion. Spencer's dedication to my case was evident throughout the entire process. He meticulously reviewed all the details, developed a robust defense strategy, and kept me informed every step of the way. His confidence and expertise were reassuring, especially during such a stressful time. The most remarkable aspect of Spencer's service was the outcome he achieved – a dismissal of my case. This result speaks volumes about his capability as a defense attorney and his commitment to his clients. If you are looking for a lawyer who will not only fight tirelessly for your rights but also provide the support you need, I highly recommend Spencer & Bondy law.

I arrested for a high bac. Mr Bondy represented me in northern Michigan. I choose Mr Bondy because of his ratings on the internet. Working with Spencer was very easy, he always responded promptly and with detailed and accurate information. My case was reduced in a plea agreement. The outcome of my case has allowed me to continue my travel schedule for work. Spencer was easy to contact and very responsive to any questions I had.

I was arrested in November 2023 for an OWI. Spencer was referred to me and I am forever grateful. He represented me at the 52-1 District Court in Novi, MI. From our initial contact (he returned my call while he was on vacation) Spencer consistently showed a high degree of professionalism and expertise with the process of the law and provided guidance and direction throughout the entire process, all which aided in a very positive outcome. I liked working with Spencer because he demonstrated a calming yet candid presentation with potential outcomes and the necessary steps to be completed throughout the process. HIs communication and availability was outstanding. He always displayed respect to me and to everyone at the court. He is very well respected and organized. Spencer , with all the information gathered, convinced the prosecutor to dismiss the OWI for a much lesser plea. No DUI or criminal record on my driving record. No probation or jail. Spencer was outstanding representing me!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Milford, Michigan?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
