When my dad and I arrived at Michigan Law Center for our appointment with Elizabeth, we were in crisis mode. My mom had suffered a massive stroke and was nearing the end of her Medicare days in a nursing facility. My parents had no will and had not organized their financials. It was a mess. Elizabeth and her paralegal, Brandi, untangled all the frustrating threads of chaos and helped us put everything in order so that my mom might have the best chance of qualifying for Medicaid. Yes, it was a difficult and time-consuming 5 months of pulling everything together; but when we received the precious call that my mom was approved for Medicaid, all those months of frustration melted away into joy and relief. Elizabeth puts her hand to the plow and pushes relentlessly. She is honest and trustworthy. I believe she truly loves the work she does. She is making a difference.
