I had an opportunity to use this attorney company. I pray that you find peace with the issues you have. Please call a good attorney that can get you child support, medication expense, things you own . This attorney company never did for me. They charged me two attorney fees and all I had was a 150,000.00 loss of money Never use this attorney firm New Attorney Alex Benson in South Field Michigan Please use Alex as I have a few people going through divorce and they are using him because I used him and liked. God bless you and protect yourself and your money.

Hiring Kecskes, Gadd & Parker, PC was a true blessing for us. We were being sued by a money hungry horrible company for over 100,000 thousand dollars!! Kecskes and team seen right through their false allegations against my family and took the case head on. Long story short they ended up owing us money. One thing I can say whole heartedly is this team of lawyers truly care about their clients. If we ever need legal advice again we will absolutely come back to Kecskes firm. Loyalty integrity honesty and commitment are a few words we'd use to explain this firm. Highly recommend!

Where to start? Going through a divorce is never easy! I thought I could handle it all but at the urging of some very good friends and a referral from one of them, I decided to hire Penny Parker. She not only handled all the legalities but more importantly, she talked to me like a real person and helped me to see what was truly in my best interest. She made something that could have been so difficult very easy for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

In my time of need, I was referred to this wonderful family of attorneys. I don’t know where to start with all of the good things I have to say about KGP. They are professional, experienced, friendly, compassionate, speedy, respond quickly… ultimately they just went above and beyond for me. My investment with KGP was worth it. They worked hard for me and my case. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer them and I will continue to utilize their services in the future if and when any situations arise. Thank you my friends! I appreciate the attorneys, the assistants, the secretaries and I’m honored to have them on my side.

The positive message I believe you are going to do. I was told they are going to make their building by law handicapped ready. So happy as they will put front ramps, door openers, large spaces for people with items to get through. Ramps in building when needed. Bathroom are large and handles to be safe. I'm so happy for you in doing the right thing because it is law. Congratulations. This is a great investment and required by law. Glad to share on the big investment for the disability people. Plymouth people deserve this. Thank you Keith, Penny, and others. Making people safer and feel they are important as disabled. I'm able to do what I need to do. Thanks The Plymouth city hall I'm sure is by law making sure it is done right. Great news for Plymouth. Congratulations

I hired Mark Chiesa for a very difficult case involving real property. To say that the deck was very much stacked against us in this case would actually be an understatement. I’ve had seven lawyers in total for other cases and, although they were all pretty good, Mark was the best. I have some complaints about all of the other lawyers that I’ve had but I have absolutely no complaints about Mark; he’s just that good. Of course, in any court case, it always comes down to the decision of a judge or a jury but Mark will work harder and smarter than most other attorneys, increasing the likelihood of a favorable outcome. Mark did exactly what I wanted him to do despite the unlikelihood of that ever happening. And he did it ethically, without having to convince the judge of things by telling bold-faced lies like the lawyer on the opposing side kept doing. Mark Chiesa is a great guy and a great lawyer. If you retain him and lose, you were gonna lose no matter what.

Mark has represented me on a couple of matters and both times he was very helpful, courteous, and did a great job. On top of that his fees were very reasonable. I refer him to all of my friends!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Plymouth, Michigan?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
