On Nov. 3, 2020, I called RENITA FORREST and FORREST LAW, PLLC. On Nov. 4th, I retained RENITA FORREST and FORREST LAW, PLLC because attorney RENITA FORREST is black, female, and anxious to provide great service SO I THOUGHT since she is fairly new to the practice of law. RENITA FORREST heard my complaint, heard the direction I wanted to take given that my ex-husband and his attorney have been lying and stalling for two whole years on our QDRO settlement, and said that "I would be happy to come on board." At RENITA FORREST'S request, I emailed her documents to support my strategy and on Nov. 4th, I formally retained RENITA FORREST and FORREST LAW, PLLC. After only SIX DAYS--Saturday and Sunday included, and apparently, after back and forth phone calls with my ex's attorney without my knowledge or consent, RENITA FORREST HAD THE GALL to ask me via email on Nov. 10th "to give them another week." After not doing anything she agreed to do during our consultation and PRIOR TO THE RETAINER FEE, I asked RENITA FORREST by email "to do what [she] agreed to do or politely return my money." Instead of choosing one alternative over the other, a few hours later, RENITA FORREST and FORREST LAW, PLLC emailed me a "Letter of Disengagement" in response to my ultimatum. She subsequently invoiced me for an additional $285.00, claiming that I had "exhausted the retainer fee"--THE ENTIRE $750.00!!! PHONE CALLS WERE NEVER PART OF MY STRATEGY. I WARNED THEM and RENITA FORREST prior to retaining FORREST LAW, PLLC that I was done talking after TWO YEARS OF PATIENCE. I disputed all charges with my creditor. My creditor investigated the matter--even weighing in on RENITA FORREST and FORREST LAW'S challenge, and quickly decided in my favor. So, I haven't lost anything but my faith in women's solidarity, reflecting now on the experience with my first attorney. BUYER BEWARE!!!
