In 1999, age 19, I followed a girl to Rochester Hills, MI from Seoul, South Korea as my love interest had received admission from Cranbrook Academy of Arts. I ended up matriculating in the nearest college I can enroll, which was Oakland Univ in Rochester Hills to start my college years. Unfortunately, this relationship didn't last long and I had no reason to stay in Michigan anymore. So, I packed up my bag and left Michigan and never looked back. However, while I was in Michigan, I racked up several traffic violations, which included expired plates, which snowballed into license suspensions and yours truly driving on a suspended license without knowing. I guess being 19, broke, and living in a foreign country, I dropped the ball quiet a bit. So, after I left Michigan, I completely forgot about the infractions and went on with my life. Fast forward 24 years, I'm living in NJ, married with 3 kids. My wife got pulled over for some minor blinker violation but the vehicle was registered in my name and the trooper who pulled over my wife informed her that your husband has several outstanding warrants dating back 24 years from Rochester and Rochester Hills, MI. So, I picked up the phone and made several inquiries to both Rochester and Rochester Hills court and explained my situation (ie. living out of state + ticket being 24 years old) but all I received in return are very cold and rude responses requiring me to fly out to Michigan, probably more than once, for the arraignment and for subsequent hearings for minor misdemeanor charges. I had no relatives, friends, or business connections with anyone in Michigan so it would've been a complete waste of time and money to fly out several times to resolve this matter and would've expected some common sense from the court admin personnel. I pleaded several option such as pleading guilty by mail, paying whatever penalties imposed on the violations, and more but responses I received were "no". With my frustration level extremely high, I Googled several attorneys practicing in Rochester and/or Rochester Hills, MI and after consulting with several attorneys, I ended up working with Julian. The result was absolutely wonderful. Julian persuaded the prosecutor and the presiding judge to allow Zoom conferences instead of in person arraignment for both Rochester and Rochester Hills violations (total of 3 charges). During COVID Zoom conferences were the norm but when Julian requested one, both Rochester and Rochester Hills court ceased all Zoom conferences and returned to in-person arraignments only and it took special persuading from Julian to have 2 separate prosecutors and 2 separate judges to consent to Zoom conference. This probably saved me 2 or 3 round trip air + hotel + rental car expenses. In addition to the Zoom success, Julian made it possible for all 3 misdemeanor charges to be dismissed and dropped to zero point civil infractions with only a monetary fine. Julian did an amazing job and gave me the assistance that was desperately needed to take care of these 24 year old tickets. If anyone reading reviews on Julian, my experience with Julian was extremely positive and I highly recommend him.
