Matt Van Steenkiste represented my son recently in Mt Pleasant, Mi. For a Felony expungement case. Matt won this case with professionalism, patience and was ultra prepared. I had an exceptional experience with Matt Van Steenkiste and the law offices of Garmo & Kiste. The office atmosphere is very professional(you are greeted quickly and offered a drink). Matt is a personable guy and showed great patience and understanding with my case(in which he was successful). I highly recommend having Matt and his firm represent anyone needing real legal expertise. I hope I never have the need for a lawyer again, but if I do, I'll be calling Mr. Van Steenkiste.

Brian is very professional and helpful. He got my ticket dismissed with no effect on my driving record.

Brian represented my mom for a credit card debt which she was only an additional card holder. However, they were suing her for the amount. Brain work really hard and got the case dismissed.

Brian represented me & I highly STRONGLY recommend these guys!! I had 2 driving misdemeanor & Brian did his job. I didn't even have to the see the judge and no points were even added on to my drivers license. Other then that their prices are super reasonable. Great attorneys strongly recommend these guys.

I've had to use Matt's services twice now. A couple years ago my partner had used 3 different lawyers for his 4 probation violations. All 3 of them got him into more trouble. He was facing jail time and I insisted we try Matt. Not only did Matt keep him out of jail, he also got his probation dropped. Here we are a couple years later & I needed a lawyer. Of course I called Matt. He got my case dismissed & kept me from going to jail. I'm certain of this...if you need a lawyer, CALL MATT VANSTEENKISTE. I hired Matt as my divorce attorney. He made this whole scary, and intense process, a lot less messy. Matt is a very honest lawyer, and made me feel more at ease about the situation I was in. He was kind and understanding, and did a great job at keeping me informed about every step. I highly recommend Matt, if you want an attorney who is honest, and fair, and gets a great job done!

Matt is very comfortable to talk with, he is very professional. I highly recommend him. He followed up with phone calls in a timely manner. He took his time to explain things without making me feel rushed.

UPDATE: Thankfully Garmo & Kiste, after reading this review, was able to refer me to a wonderful bankruptcy attorney (Brian & Ted @ Yaldou Law) who did an absolutely amazing job. Still unfortunate that I needed one in the first place, however, it was a kind gesture on their part. Would absolutely not recommend Matt VanStinkiste as an attorney to represent you in a divorce. He was affordable and was a seemingly nice person. He always answered my questions when things were complicated. I actually trusted him, and thought that he would fight for the best possible outcome for my children and I in my divorce and mediation; Only to have him request that I "release him as my attorney" if I did not sign a mediation agreement which left me with 70,000 in joint credit card debt. I signed the agreement because Matt assured me that if my husband was held partially responsible that he would file bankruptcy on his portion of the debt and I would be stuck with the debt anyway....The outcome was me filing for bankruptcy! While consulting with my bankruptcy attorney I was told that my husband absolutely should have been responsible to repay his portion of the debt, and that debt assigned in a divorce is non-dis-chargeable by way of bankruptcy! Apparently he thought that it would have been too costly for me to hold my husband accountable for his portion of the marital debt or that by the end of it I would have owed so much that I couldn't pay him. Very unfortunate, as regardless of how much it would have cost me to be able to come out of this divorce at least able to stand on my own two feet, I would have made every effort to pay him promptly. Incredibly disappointed to find out that life after divorce for his client was not a priority for him, I really thought he would have represented me much better.
