I would give Steve at least 4.5 stars out of 5. I used Mr. Dunn ( Steve) for my FATCA compliance. I hired him back in July and he worked with me patiently over the months. He is very understanding and is very knowledgeable in his field. He also gives personal attention and talks to his client when in need. Even after hours if needed. He also does not charge you for every minute you speak to him in regards to simple advice after you hire him. Of course he will charge accordingly for his work done but it is nice to pick up the phone and not have to worry about being charged for a simple question during the process. This is no easy task as lots of attorneys and CPA as well certified consultants told me of the of penalties far greater then what Steve gave me upon consultation exactly the figures i would be looking at in regards to tax compliance. On Dec 15th I received a letter from the IRS indication my submission was accepted. While there is no closing letter for my case, the response from the IRS was adequate as the we now compliant and worry free. Thanks to Steve who know every in and out of the TAX laws in the USA and foreign compliance. While He is not the cheapest out there, he does bring value, Something he prides himself. Steve is indeed awesome in every way! I owned two offshore mutual funds and did not realize that I was required to file FBARS for them. Stephen helped me prepare the FBARS and a streamline offshore compliance filing. The filing was much more complicated than I could have imagined because tax laws governing offshore investments are very complex. Stephen's expertise in this field of law was evident, and very much appreciated. At all times, Stephen was professional, confident and reassuring. He accepted my calls in a kind and supportive manner, explaining the law in detail, and the correct manner to remain tax-compliant. In April, 2014, at or around 01:00 a.m., I got a phone call from the IRS informing me they had seized over $122K out of my savings account. The phone call took place while I was out of the country. In that moment, I did not realize whether this was a scam or what was going on. It was shocking. After sending an email to Mr. Dunn (Steve), I received a fairly quick response via email. After talking with him over the phone first time, I felt he would be the guy to solve this case. He showed confidence with samples of his previous work where he had won cases such as this, including attorney fees. After I paid the retainer, Steve took immediate action and filed motion after motion as necessary, beating the IRS and the government's response time. During the course of this case, Steve dealt with the abuse of government power. However, he was persisitent at all times, and helped me held to the ground through the way. In the first year, Steve used all the defenses and arguments he could use to protect our side of the case. Most attorneys that I had talked to all advised that it was not possible to get any attorney fees back. Later in the first year, the government converted this Civil case into a Criminal case. After a year of investigating and finding nothing, the government decided to continue the Civil case. Later, after Steve's persistently putting pressure on the government and calling the approprorate contacts, the government backed off and decided they want to settle the matter. To make a long story short, after over two years of the arguments and patience, I finally got all my funds back and some attorney fees. Although we had very high chances of winning this case if it had gone to trial, we decided to settle the case. Over the last two years, these cases have stopped happening from the IRS for legally sourced funds like in this case. However, it seems the government really needs to limit their power in certain areas in this country. I would have loved to go all the way with this one, but after waiting two years, it was just too much. Thanks again for all of your hard work Steve. I highly advise, to those who are reading this, to talk with Steve if you are in any such situations as Civil Asset Seizures cases.

After moving abroad, our tax consultant had advised us to file a voluntary disclosure in connection with the FBAR reports. This resulted in a six-digit penalty. We were shocked and needed legal representation in the U.S. Luckily we found Mr. Dunn who advised us and handled the matter very professionally. He is very knowledgeable, thorough and fair.
