Do not waste your time, energy, and money. This attorney will do nothing you hire him for, not experienced, not strong, plus will try to harass and scare. Will lie and try to charge even if you fired him long time ago. Do not recommend. He even was not able to get to the of Minnesota Law School. Unprofessional and lies a lot.

This was the first law firm we appointed to help with my son's divorce. We had hoped this law firm could assist our family in this matter in which we were completely wrong. We have spent the last year in a horrible mess which just keeps continuing. If Matt is such an expert in family law we would not be in this situation presently. His skills of OFPs, legal laws in other states and marriage counsel was an issue. We would recommend another firm for any type of family legal matters.

Matt Gilbert is a nice guy. If you just want to hire a nice guy then Matt Gilbert is the man. However, if you want to hire a lawyer that will actually listen to you, and actually stand up for what you want, then this is not the lawyer you'll want to hire. Frustrating to work with and not as experienced as you'll want in a skilled lawyer. Keep scrolling and you can find better. I can not recommend him

After three long years and three different lawyers in an effort to divorce my husband, No so called reputable attorney was able to get me support. In my darkest moment with little to no money left, I was blessed to find Matt Gilbert. He was sympathetic, brilliant, and 100% ethical. Extremely sensitive to the rights of females. He got me through trial with excellent results! I refer to Matt as my Atticus Finch. I highly recommend Matt as your starting place. I can promise you, you will not regret it. His fees are fair and not padded. Matt is truly devoted to the spirit of his profession, not focused on his own financial gain.

I was so fortunate that an good friend suggested Matthew Gilbert to represent me in my divorce. Matthew Gilbert handled all matters swiftly and better than I thought possible! I was married 25 years. I had never been divorced and had no idea the steps or the legal process. He always made me at ease that I could ask ANY question. Matthew explained things so I was able to relax. Matt did what was needed for a speedy divorce (4 months) with as little drama as possible AND I didn't give away the farm! No, it is not cheap….but this is relative isn’t it?? I was referred to Matt from a friend that only consulted with him. She ended up not using an attorney at all in her divorce. She was referred to him from a friend that was up AGAINST Matt in his divorce. That was enough for me to consult with Matt. Matt was grounding for me and helped me to decrease the emotion that I was feeling and did not escalate it. He was very matter of fact, positive and centered on the facts. I had waited, thinking that my divorce was too complicated. In dealing with my now X's attorney, Matt was factual and very comfortable. Matt showed he could handle conflict with colleagues as well as handle my emotions with this negotiation. He understood the way to get things done efficiently and get a positive outcome. I was ready at certain times to give away the farm just to be done. Matt was the stabilizer. He was calm and reserved, yet efficient. Listening to my concerns and giving the "why" behind his actions made me not only comfortable, but optimistic about the outcome. He knew his way around a courtroom and that was evident. When others said that we didn't need to do certain things, Matt never lead me down the wrong road. I would whole heartedly recommend Matt! He was wonderful and made me feel like I was his special client. This is invaluable in a divorce situations, as well others I am sure

Matt made me feel like my case was the only one he had was very prompt in answering all questions and I didn't have to worry about contacting him whenever I felt the need.

Divorce was never expected. My ex had hid money for years and planned with the best to ruin my life and financial picture. I am grateful to Mr. Gilbert, his performance demonstratred people matter first. His work is his passion. Have met with many lawyers, none believed in the value of justice. Matthew is true and very brilliant.

Matt was a solid rock of calm and reason for me. Mine was a family matter involving my elderly mother and became stressful and emotional for me with very high stakes. In guardianship, once a person becomes a ward of the state there is no turning back and a family member was determined to go down this path. All of which would be pleasant but most important it worked! He sought a negotiation with a family member and when that didn't work, found another strategy. Ultimately, Matt petitioned to drop the case which the judge granted. Mom averted disaster and she now will be able to spend her remaining years cared for by family members.

An excellent attorney capable of making legal decisions better than most judges are capable of making judicial decisions...highly recommended...this writer rates him highly in all areas.
