Tim is an excellent lawyer. He is very knowledgeable and was able to represent me very well during an appeal of my divorce case. Tim was able to work collaboratively with my primary lawyers to get up to speed on my case to save me time and money during the appeal process. Tim's integrity is beyond approach and he helped walk me through each step of the appeals process and what to expect during each step as well as the likely outcome. I appreciate that he didn't make any guarantees and helped explain things to me so that I could make informed decisions. Although Tim wasn't my primary lawyer for my divorce case, he did such a great job during the appeals process that I can confidently recommend him to handle all aspects of your divorce.

Mr. Lees is an excellent lawyer and I very much appreciate all the legal help he gave to me. Mr. Lees was able to use his legal expertise to come to my aid with difficult situations that were troubling and stressful to me, and his help put me at ease. This is something that I will always be Thankful for. My legal needs involved the most important thing in the whole world to me, my children – so I needed a lawyer whom I could trust. Mr. Lees was recommended to me from a highly regarded source as someone that I could trust, and to my relief this proved correct – I put my trust in the right person. Mr. Lees worked very hard to help me, and because of his help some bad situations were turned around and made better for my son. Without this help my son would have been in a situation that would have been very unhealthy for him. Mr. Lees made a way for my son to be free to live his life the way he was meant to live it – and this meant everything to me. Mr. Lees understood me, and what I needed for my children – and he worked to make things better – and that is exactly what I needed. I have much gratitude for all that Mr. Lees did for me during the time that he was my attorney. It is clear that Mr. Lees has much experience as a lawyer, is hard working, is responsive to his client’s needs, wants to make things work for the benefit of his clients, and is trustworthy. I highly recommend Mr. Lees as an attorney.

Tim is an outstanding lawyer. He worked very hard on my case. He was very knowledgeable in all areas of my case. Tim is a compassionate lawyer, who was understanding, caring, and took my case very seriously working very hard on it. I was coming out of a very bad domestic abuse marrriage where I thought I could lose everything. Which would mean losing all the stability that my children had, while going through trauma themselves. I had a head injury, and Tim was so patient, and understanding . He did a great job letting me know what he needed from me. And if I didn’t respond. He would always be persistent, but in a way that was very much appreciated. He did an exceptional job in court each time on my case, and we won. I could not have asked for a better lawyer. I would highly recommend him to any person I know.

I was involved in a car accident on 11/12/2013. The other driver involved totally denied that he was at fault. After the fact that he hit my vehicle forcing hi vehicle into my lane, causing a huge damage to my vehicle. He also gave false accusations about me to the officer that came to the scene of the accident. Fortunately, i was able to find Attorney David S. Rochlyn and he was able to prove to the other driver's attorney that his client was at fault.

Pam and her team are exceptional! The expertise, support, and level of care that they provide can't be matched. Our daughter suffered a dog attack at a young age and we were unsure of what options we had. The experience was overwhelming and emotional to say the least, and Pam helped us all along the way, and was critical in helping us have a positive outcome and do what we believed was the best thing for our daughter. We will never forget Pam and the support that she provided our family.

I could not have asked for a better attorney and accompanying team than what Pam, David, Christina and Tony provided. Just a few months after the loss of a very close family member, I was in the back of a ride share vehicle that was stopped at a stoplight. Seconds after the vehicle had come to a stop, a negligent driver crashed into the back of our vehicle at an excessive rate of speed. The impact caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to the ride share vehicle. The aftermath left me dazed and in pain; with damage to my brain that was visible on subsequent MRI screenings, and temporarily out of work. An acquaintance of mine who had heard of the situation, recommended that I speak with Pam. Pam agreed to meet me near my home to discuss the incident. With compassion, she took down my account and helped lay out the foreseeable future. 'Your main focus,' she said, 'is to focus on healing, we'll take care of everything else.' Over the next 2 and a half years, I was able to do just that. Dozens and dozens of appointments; ranging from physical therapy to vision screenings to urgent care visits would follow, but if I ever had a question, Pam or someone from her team was there with an answer, or the assistance, I required. I never once went into one of my own scheduled appointments, or an independent medical exam, feeling overwhelmed or at odds with my own healing. My main priority was to get better, and Pam and her team were always there to remind me of that and to relieve as much of the ongoing burden from me as was humanly possible. Now that my case has been resolved, looking back on it all, it is pretty incredible the amount of time Pam and her team put into helping me. From filing a claim almost immediately after our consultation, to getting compensation for my lost wages, to helping me recover ongoing expenses in an almost real time fashion, to making sure that everyone of my medical bills that I incurred were paid, and paid for in a timely manner. All of that requires so much paperwork to be filed and so much attention to detail to be given, and Pam passed every test with flying colors. Sure, the experience wasn't completely without distress, the team of attorneys on the other side did their best to discredit me and my claims, to devalue my experience and losses and attempt to diminish my injuries to nothing more than conjured fiction. But Pam and her team held steadfast, they fought back (using facts and tact) and encouraged me to do the same. And I am so happy that I did so. If you ever find yourself injured due to the negligence of somebody else, I strongly encourage you to contact Pam Rochlin. She's as advertised folks. I am so thankful to report that I have mostly healed from my physical and neurological setbacks, and due to her diligence, I was able to offset a large chunk of the financial damage incurred (and avoid ever looming bankruptcy & potential bank forfeitures) because of what she was able to recover. Protect your rights, and hire an advocate that'll do the same, you will not regret it!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Edina, Minnesota?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
