I have worked with Hellmuth and Johnson many time, and in particular with Joel Hilgendorf. I can't say enough good things. He is well versed in our ByLaws and Policy documents and always provides concise, relevant, matter-of-fact information in relation to our COA procedures in a friendly way. Highly recommended.

Not impressed with the professionalism or the lack thereof. Went through multiple lawyers on my case having to start from ground zero each time. A few even left the firm in the middle of it. Strange. Seemed very proud to write up fees without anything in return. I would Not recommend.

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Alex Mueller on multiple projects in differing fields; namely the film industry and the nonprofit sector. Whether it’s writing clear and concise contracts for Emmy-nominated directors or nondisclosure agreements for board members, Alex Mueller embodies integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. Alex Mueller is brilliant, provides terrific advice, and always uses sound judgment.

I hired this law firm to represent me in a forced sale. I nearly fired them very early on. I asked my attorney to file the paperwork he advised me that he did. I was able to check the court filings on line and didn't see any filings on my behest. I contacted the attorney and he had assured me the case was filed , This happened twice finally telling him three times and 2 or 3 months later the case was actually filed. This showed me the ethics of this attorney were not very good. I had contacted several law firms to get a replacement firm in sight. Most of them said it could be detrimental to my case to change firms. I was advised prior to beginning the case the cost would be about 10,000 to 15,000 dollars if the case went all the way to trial. The case stopped way short of trial and it cost me over 17000.00. Even on the months that there was no or very limited contact between my attorney and i or my attorney and the opposing counsel, I was charged between 4 and 5 hours of attorney time (approx $1500- $1700). I have a strong background in auditing so I asked my attorney to send anything that would show a paper trail of the cost. All that I received was copies of previous bills and nothing to substantiate their bills. I was also billed for a filing fee and was told that that was for a previous case that my attorney represented me in for a case that was prior to him joining this law firm. I would never use this law firm or law firm again. I would advise anyone else to steer very clear of this firm also.
