Doug Miller is an exceptional real-estate attorney, a keen negotiator, a knowledgable advocate, and a genuine and kind person. I would recommend Doug without reservation, and over any other real estate agent in this state, to buy or sell your next house (and it will cost you less). We hired Doug to navigate a high-level, complex real-estate transaction for lakeshore property. The deal required attorney/client privilege, drafting skill, and legal knowledge. Doug navigated this deal with confidence and success. We are both professionals and we couldn't be happier with Doug's representation. Unfortunately, other realtors lied to us in the past about inspections and contractual terms to land their commissions, but Doug provided reasoned, and seasoned, advice consistent with Minnesota law to achieve our goals and protect our confidences. And even after the representation ended, Doug generously answered additional questions and address my concerns. He is exceptional, above and beyond 5 stars!!!

Working with Doug was the BEST real estate decision we ever made. We came new to the Minnesotan market and needed someone we can trust to guide us through the process, be there for us and make sure we get the best deal possible. Doug did all of that and more.
Having an agent AND a real estate lawer in one? I will never do business any other way. The business structure he has allowed us to get everything we would from an agent (and more!) and have more money in our pocket at closing.
My friends, family and myself will all continue to work with Doug and we can't thank him enough for helping us find our new forever home & investment property.

We worked with Doug for our home purchase recently and we had great experience. He is knowledgeable not only in real estates but also related laws. He provided us many good advices. Whenever we had a question or request, he promptly responded. He was also proactive and arranged all things for us so we did not worry anything. His service fee was very reasonable. Compared to a traditional realtor, we saved quite a bit. He is very trustworthy and highly recommended. Thank you very much Doug!

TLDR: Doug is both a realtor and a real estate attorney, so you get the knowledge from both professions for less than you would going with a traditional realtor (pay less commission when selling and get a rebate when buying). Plus, he's a great guy, it's really a no brainer and I won't use or recommend anyone else for any realtor needs.
Doug recently represented us in a transaction and it was an amazing experience, plus we saved a ton of money! Doug wasn't pushy and he didn't try to rush us into making a bad decision to get his commission faster, and actually he took the time to work with us to get us what we wanted (even if it took a bit longer)
With Doug you get everything you need to buy/sell plus the knowledge and representation of an actual real estate attorney! It's not that you get what you pay for or that it's too good to be true, it's that times are changing and the traditional real estate system hasn't changed with it. It's much easier to buy/sell with all the online resources that exist now, yet other realtors still want the same % fees when prices are soaring so they're making more commission for easier work.
The traditional real estate commission system is outdated and there is literally no reason not to go with Doug. You get way more for less, it's a no brainer! If you're on the fence, just give him a shot and like me you'll be wondering why anyone would go with a traditional realtor.

Based on my recently closed home purchase, I’d recommend Doug as far and above the best choice you could make for Minnesota real estate transactions. Unlike other agents, Doug worked with me using a straightforward flat fee, plus he worked successfully to refund me his buyer's broker commission. That is remarkable, but the most fantastic thing about it is the service he delivered at the same time—far exceeding other agents because of his knowledge, real estate and legal expertise, and commitment. Doug went the extra mile when needed, and his dedication showed in the final result. He's smart, expert at what he does, and a pleasure to work with (with a great sense of humor!). He was a superior negotiator on my behalf, and I was highly impressed with the results. I lived 1200 miles away when I relocated to Minnesota, and Doug expertly guided me through the entire experience. It was a relief to have someone so trustworthy working on my behalf. With his passion for and expertise in consumer law, I was confident he represented my best interests at all times. Overall, a fabulous experience!

Doug Miller did a fantastic job selling my condominium in Bloomington, Minnesota, and I highly recommend his services.
As an attorney I really appreciated Doug laying out his expenses and fee structure. Not only did I pay much less in realtor commissions, I received much more in service than I had with two prior realtors that I had discharged during this process.
I highly recommend talking to Doug about the real estate business and how commission fees can be structured to actually reflect the value of your home and the actual effort by your realtor. You will not receive the full benefit of a realtor's commission from any of the usually 6% realtors that you do business with. They simply should not be charging the percentages from your home sale or purchase when the product should sell itself.
Doug was realistic about spending money on condo updates versus a solid listing price. Doug was also very good with keeping me in the loop on negotiations. He worked evenings and weekends to make sure we kept negotiations moving forward in real time, so we were able to capitalize on offers during a very brisk real estate market.
I had previously fired another realtor, plus a second realtor that had a part-time law practice. Both wanted to list my condo and make a quick buck for themselves. Between the two prior realtors, I found all residences that I viewed with the prior realtors with the exception of one.
Much of the information from prior realtors was contradictory when I questioned listing price and timing with the purchase of a new home. Also, the prior realtors wanted a substantial investment of my money for updates to my former condo simply for the purposes of a quick sale, while the condo itself was only 11 years old.
When I asked the prior realtors what they were doing for their commission they could not define what they were doing to earn their fee other that open doors at showings and put my prior condo on the listing service. There was no analysis or actual effort being expended by the prior realtors.
