After being charged with a serious felony, a family member recommended Joe. At our first meeting, I knew he was the man for the job. Throughout the entire process his confidence, knowledge, and professionalism was unbelievable! Joe and his office left no stone unturned during their investigation of the facts. He always addressed my concerns and kept me at ease. When my case went to trail, he did an absolutely outstanding job! I was acquitted of all charges! High recommended!

Can't say enough great things about these guys. Let me just say right off the bat that I am a writer, and my case involved the defense of a book; so this review is a little wordy. In July 2014, I was served with a harassment restraining order at my job in New Jersey by a woman in Minnesota with whom I had an affair for a year and a half… All because of the book I was writing about events that ultimately led to my divorce, the sale of my house, and a move across the country. If I had let this order stand, I would literally be jailed for writing a book. Initially, I thought I could take her on alone because the charges seemed so ridiculous. I was so sure I could win just by walking into the courtroom with a copy of the Constitution. But when I got back to Minnesota, I learned she had lawyered up and they were playing hardball. They thought they could push me around, so I needed a great defense team to help me save the memoir which I had spent more than a year working on. Caplan & Tamburino may have been a little more pricey than the competition, but I could see in my web logs that Joe Tamburino and his team were putting a lot of effort into reviewing the details of my case before I even met with them for the initial consultation; before I had even paid them a dime. I knew Joe Tamburino was the right guy for the job. I'm sure I was a real pain at times, too, because I wanted to have a very "hands on" role in my defense. But Joe never shut me out and he kept me actively involved. I always felt like I was in control of my case and he expertly delivered the statements, memorandums, and examination in a professional manner that I never would have been able to on my own. Even up until the very end of our final court appearance, six months later, far longer than he ever thought he'd be involved in the case he took on for a flat rate, he was on-point. He never backed down in the face of her attorney's dirty tricks and intimidation tactics. After Joe's closing argument last week, I knew there was no way we could lose. Just today, December 27, 2014, I received notice that after six long months of delays and stalling by her side, we won our case and my book will be published. This case may very well have big first amendment implications in Minnesota and beyond. Losing this case was not an option. I know I picked the right firm.

Let it be known I have never written a review in my life. With that being said....The pro's at Caplan & Tamburino literally saved my lifestyle from a dui charge from the Champlin police department. I interviewed three firms in Minneapolis with Allan Caplan and an associate being the only attorneys meeting in person providing me with my options, solid defense strategies and expectations before leaving the office. Hillary Parsons was the attorney that took the lead in my case. Her professionalism and trial expertise is unparalleled. She understood my apprehension toward the entire legal process which led to Ms. Parsons representing my case with me rarely setting foot into a court room. In fact, through the firms professional channels and streamline efficiency submitting legal documents to the State, I only lost my right to drive for a total of one hour. I mention that because I remember the cop harassing me at the time of my booking about a guaranteed loss of driving privileges prior to a court date as he cut my license. He showed me pictures of the breathalyzer I will need to have installed in my car and bragged to me that he has never had a dui charge overturned. It was very evident the prosecutors and judges totally respected her legal opinions and courtroom expertise. We declined every plea presented to us. The end result? Here's the kicker....After the eight month fight in the court rooms and all the work Ms. Parsons put into my case to win on all fronts....I received an unexpected refund check in the mail. Caplan & Tamburino law firm is among best in Twin Cities. They simply provide five star defense, and therefore the price. In case reputation is at stake and criminal charges are filed, why would anyone want a two star defense? Hillary Parsons took my call late on Saturday and then met me in person on Sunday. Joe Tambourino also took time away from his family to be at the meeting and to come my nerves. These guys work 24/7! I can write novels, but here are two reasons why I will refer all of my friends to them: REPUTATION IN a COURTROOM - prosecutor is an attorney, judge is an attorney, and my defense is an attorney. I did not even have to physically stand in front of a judge with a gross misdemeanor charge! Hillary did that for me. She got a hearing date and I was on my way to work. The charge against me was dropped thanks to Hillary's investigation and hard work! There was not even a hearing! Thank you Caplan & Tamburino! Dialing your number in a time of distress was a blessing! Once again I had to ask for help from this distinguished company ))) Hillary was amazing! She is someone out of a movie or a university book... she got prosecuting attorney to fight for me... this is a hidden secret in Minnesota....She got me out of Jail by getting probation officer out here))) she is amazing... if it was not for her, I would be facing a year in jail... she got it down to two days of community service... she is awesome )))

They are professional, discreet and effective. I called them after some very bad judgment landed me in Hennepin County jail for a short visit. Though they wouldn't make the same sorts of empty promises other firms did, they were honest and forthright about the sort of defense they could offer. I was recently in bad car accident involving myself and a passenger. I was driving my friend home from the bar when she started horsing around, trying to take my eyeglasses, and accidentally grabbed the wheel causing us to go into a ditch and hit a lamp post. She was injured severely and I was left slightly beaten and bruised with a broken thumb. They whisked her off to the hospital and myself to jail for the weekend. When the smoked cleared the state had revoked my license and was charging me with 5 counts of Criminal Vehicular Operation (due to injured passenger) and 2 counts of DUI. There is no disputing that I had a couple drinks throughout the night, but I was in no way overly intoxicated to be operating my vehicle, I was there after all to provide a safe ride home for my friend. I tell you all this because the "facts" upon the scene did not paint the truth and the police reports were even less factual. Caplan & Tamburino's lawyers (especially Hillary Hujanen and Joe Tamburino) were exceedingly professional and personal. They advised me of all the rights I had regarding my case. They advised my injured passenger (and friend) of the rights she had in the case and the contact she should be getting from the prosecution. All in all they helped me navigate through a tremendous s@#$ storm of legal papers, drawn out test results and half-true police reports. They advised me of the how/why state prosecutors ring up so many charges against an individual. They advised my passenger of her rights to have her story and wishes be taken into account in the judgement of my case and they took my own story to the prosecution. It is their level of professionalism, experience and personal character that was able to sway the prosecution in my case from a full on assault for a CVO conviction to a plea for a 1st time DUI. The consequences to myself being much much less severe. In the end they provided me with an excellent defense, an excellent legal resource (making themselves available to my questions and always getting back to my communications very promptly) and excellent guidance to myself and my friend in the handling of this debacle. Beyond that they are extremely down to earth, pleasant and caring people. I am very thankful to have had them on my team these last 8 months and am grateful to their excellent advise and counsel.
