2 years ago (on my birthday), I was rear ended by a careless driver. The driver's insurance company immediately tried to get me to close out the case. I had heard of this type of thing- an insurance company minimizing accidents by closing out a case before injuries presented themselves, so I did what I was advised and called Lord and Heinlein immediately. Melissa met with me for 2 hours to comb through my case. She gave me invaluable advice about medical care. She counseled me through the next several months, so that I would have the documentation I needed in order to be appropriately compensated by insurance. I was injured and I was feeling very vulnerable. She became my strength that I didn't even know I needed. She took over my worry and turned it into action. The correspondence she had with both insurance companies were incredibly important and she was extremely skilled in handling both. The demand letter she sent to both insurers were some of the best written letters I have ever seen in my life. I was completely overwhelmed with gratitude. Again- she put into words what I would never have been able to say. She commanded respect from the adjusters with her ability to be collaborative, yet strong and represent my best interests. The fact is- I am self-employed and I missed out on work that year. I lost wages and it wasn't easy to articulate how many, as I am the proprietor who brings in the business. Melissa's calculations felt fair (not exorbitant) which is why she was able to obtain a favorable settlement for me. I am forever grateful for Melissa's expertise and skilled negotiations. She is worth her weight in gold and I cannot imagine better representation. I would definitely recommend Lord and Heinlein with confidence!
