When I suddenly became disabled, I was terrified, of course. But then, I thought, this is why I made the career decisions I did for all those years. Financial security is important to me, so I accepted positions based on the benefits offered, especially disability insurance. I quickly learned that despite having been in HR and employee benefits for 30+ years, I knew nothing about how disability claims are paid... or NOT paid. I was an insurance claim PRO! I submitted perfect claims. They should have been paid, but they weren't. After the 3rd denial, I researched and decided on Fields Law Firm. It took years, but we didn't give up and I finally received a partial settlement on my claim. This would not have happened without Fields. Especially with the insurance company I was dealing with. Every Dr. I discussed my claim with said ... That company? Forget it. You'll never get a cent from them. I didn't get everything I was owed, but thanks to Fields, I got something. Everyone I've interacted with at Fields has been awesome, and incredibly helpful! Zach S. and Samantha helped me to overturn my denial of STD and LTD benefits through Cigna, on the first appeal!! Other law firms told me this would be difficult because I'm relatively young (despite my multiple disabilities from chronic illnesses). They were quick to reply whenever I had any questions or concerns, and went above and beyond to help me. Having them take the burden of my appeal off of me (working with my doctors and Cigna on my behalf) was such a huge relief. Zach wrote a detailed appeal letter that was submitted alongside all of my updated documentation, and I honestly don't think I could have won my appeal without him. I ended up using Fields to help with my SSI/SSDI application too, and the communication has been just as excellent with that! Sarah B. (I believe) was so patient and kind in helping to complete my application on my behalf, which made it doable for me. Crea has been doing an amazing job in following up with the social security office, making sure they have everything they need from us, monitoring my application, and keeping me updated with all the details along the way! Also worth mentioning, I'm in Virginia and I'm still really glad I went with them rather than a local firm. I highly recommend Fields if you have a disability case pending and need representation. All of the five-star reviews are well earned!
