GREAT FIRM!! I was diagnosed with recurrent metastatic cancer that had spread to both lungs and abdominal wall. I was on long term disability through The Hartford as a result. After two years, I was still (unexpectedly) alive. The Hartford then notified me that I was no longer disabled and refused to pay benefits. I was fighting my own illness as well as my mom having advanced breast cancer and I really felt like I didn’t have the physical nor emotional bandwidth to fight The Hartford. Initially, I just gave up but came across The Fields Law Firm on a random internet search and sent a contact request.. I was immediately contacted by Sarah E. (paralegal) and Morgan A (attorney). This law firm was extremely professional and communicative and sent forms for me to sign in order for them to handle an appeal. Within two months, the insurance company had reversed their decision. I would HIGHLY recommend this firm! When you’re sick or disabled, the huge insurers play every trick in the book to make your life even more difficult. My LTD appeal took a long time. I believe Fields Law did not do anything I could not have done on my own I was still very involved with collecting medical records and following up with my doctors. I do have a complicated medical history with 9 doctors at 3 large university hospitals . Medical Records delays were the reason for my LTD case to be closed resulting in an appeal. Ultimately the the appeal was approved. All things considered the fee seemed to be high for what they did.
