Discussed matter with Bill Cotrell. I provided documents for his review, he informed me he turned the matter over to Andrew Green in his office. After chasing after them for weeks for a fee schedule, out of the blue, Bill just dropped the case with no referral. If Halpren and Cotrell handle their cases like the handle their client intake, I would be cautious when engaging this firm.

Margaret made this process easy and was so understanding. That was a big weight off of me since this can be an embarrassing and humbling step to take. I would highly recommend Kain + Henehan to anyone finding themselves in a position where bankruptcy is the best option for a fresh financial start. Thank you so much!

Beware of Danielle Lin. She is very inexperienced and almost cost us to lose everything. She would schedule phone call meetings with us, and she spent her entire time on her cell phone or answering message from her computer when she was supposed to be concentrating and paying attention to the details of our case. Due to the lack of her attention and not reviewing all the details of our case our bankruptcy was reversed and we have to refile and pay an additional filing fee. She was very unprofessional and during all the phone calls we had with her I never felt like our case was important. I strongly advise you to run if she is representing you.

Ms. Henehan is pleasant and professional, supportive, knowledgeable and I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Margaret and thanks too to your awesome Legal Assistant, Meghan.

Be aware a new attorney by the last name of Tonga has joined this practice and he was one of the worst communicators I have dealt with in my life. Anytime I needed anything he wasn’t there to help and made my bankruptcy very hard to deal with until I got a new person. He was great when he started but as soon as the case was done he got his money he could have cared less.

I am a single mom with two children and got into a tough financial situation last year year. I do not get court-ordered child support, and what I do get from my ex-husband is not nearly enough to support raising my two children on my single income. I have my daughter full-time and son 75%. I worked very hard to get promoted last month and also got a second adjunct position six months ago, but the bills and debt got out of control and I found myself in a lose-lose situation that debt management programs would not resolve. I felt embarrassed and ashamed making the free consultation call with Margaret, but all fears subsided in that first conversation. She made me feel empowered, took away any negative feelings, and almost immediately the immense weight was lifted. Margaret and Meghan, her assistant, make the process painless. Gathering the paperwork was not difficult, and Margaret effectively prepares you for the hearing. From first call to final hearing, it took less than two months. I filed Chapter 13 so I keep my house and car and now pay 570 a month to the trustees to pay off an agreed upon sum of the debt over 3 years versus the over 2000 a month I was paying for my debt. The two courses I took as part of the process have helped me get a good grip on my earnings and expenses, stay in budget, and helped me see that if I want to have a savings, I need to keep my adjunct position for a few years. I did not think bankruptcy was something I ever would need to file, nor was it something I wanted to do. However, as a single parent with no financial assistance elsewhere, it truly was my only option. I appreciate so much how supportive, compassionate and understanding Margaret was to my situation and to me through out the process. I hope one does not find themselves in a similar predicament, but, if one does, I recommend highly you call Margaret for more information. It cost 360 to file, but the burden taken from me by Margaret was worth every cent. So very grateful for her professionalism and expertise in helping me breathe easier again! Sincerely, Renae
