One of the aspects of Margaret's law firm is her professional commitment. While approachable she's not casual about her comprehensiveness nor consistency for each of her firm's clients.

We created an estate plan with Safe Harbor and had a wonderful experience. We went in with zero knowledge and are coming out feeling confident and calm about our plan.

I received a call from Safe Harbor after I first posted this. They were very nice and because I was dissatisfied with their service, they refunded my $100. I very much appreciate that they did and it says something about how they do business. They then asked me if I would either delete my review, or clarify that the package they offered to me included more than just developing a trust. Which is true, the package that they recommended to me was very comprehensive and included more than just a trust. They also said that their service was very flexible and could be tailored to our personal needs. That was not the impression that I got when I met with them, but to be fair, after the first meeting I chose not to work with them so I can't say for sure whether it would be more personalized after I began working with one of their attorneys. So, why not eliminate the sales reps and just allow people to work with the attorneys to begin with? I have made a few edits of my original review (below) and noted where I made changes. Original review: I was very disappointed with my experience at this firm. We went in to discuss how getting married (or not) would affect estate planning and asset protection. They offered an initial one hour Estate Planning Life & Legacy Session for the $100. Somewhere in the sign up process it may have said that we wouldn't meet with an attorney during this first session, but my expectation was that we would. However, the representative seemed fairly knowledgeable, and that is not why I cannot recommend this firm. EDIT: When I spoke to them on the phone they apologized for the misunderstanding about not meeting with an attorney and said that they would be sure to clarify that in the future. End Edit. Several times during our session the representative mentioned the value of using trusts for estate planning . At the end of the session he had a sheet of paper with six or so different options. The cost for each of these was listed at the bottom of that page. He held his hand over the prices and asked us which one each of us thought would be best for us. Of course the option listing comprehensive trust services seemed the best. He then removed his hand and revealed that the cost for that option was $10,000.00. EDIT: He also recommended that if we chose not to get married that my girlfriend/fiancée should purchase the next package down for herself, which was $5000. So, the total cost that for the services recommended to us would have been $15,000. End Edit. In retrospect, it seems like his whole presentation was intended to steer us toward the most expensive option. We were expected to select from a limited cookie cutter menu of options after a brief meeting with a sales rep. We later met with a different firm and spoke to an attorney about our specific concerns. Completely unprovoked she said that a trust didn't fit our circumstance and then recommended some much simpler options. We have not completed the process with her yet, so I don't know exactly how much she will charge. I doubt that it would be as much and certainly not more than Safe Harbor wanted to charge for their services. To be fair though, I don't know for certain if our actual cost will be more or less than the $10,000.00 fee EDIT: or $15,000 fee End Edit. that Safe Harbor was going to charge us. I can't say exactly how the next steps would have gone with Safe Harbor, but based on my first meeting I think it is unlikely that we would have received a plan that was personalized specifically for our circumstances. EDIT: After that first meeting, each of us had the same "impression", but again, we didn't go forward so we can't say for sure how it would have turned out. End Edit.

Safe Harbor made our estate planning process extremely smooth.

I would highly recommend Safe Harbor for estate, planning and applying for medical assistance for loved ones.

The entire process was fantastic. They took all stress out of the decision process. Ben walked us through the the details on a whiteboard allowing us to visualize the options we had. To quote another attorney from the past who advised on television “ This is all they do and they do it well “.
