Matt is the best attorney in Madison county. I had gone through three different attorneys who could not help me and then I hired Matt. He did in one month what it took four years for the others to do!

Excellent attorney, to say the least! Matt is very upfront, honest, quick minded and two steps ahead. To say that he is "aggressive" and "fights to win" would be a huge understatement, in my personal opinion. I chose him over other highly respected attorneys, and I am so happy I did. Not only did he win our case in a time frame almost unheard of, he fought for justice and turned broken into whole. I have yet to see attorneys on tv fight a case like Matt Baldridge in a courtroom; he is definitely someone you want on YOUR side! He answered all of my questions, texts, and calls in an extremely timely manner, and reassured me at THE most difficult time of my life. I cannot say enough good about him!

Matthew Baldridge was extremely efficient, professional, and ethical throughout this entire process. It was a mentally and emotionally straining ordeal for me, and he was there to listen to me as if I were his only client. He never once made me feel like a burden or like my situation was not real or important. He was honest about situations and what the odds are. He always had my best interest. He's not afraid of a challenge, but he will never jump in without having facts calculated and making sure everything is in order. It was definitely a stressful case for him, as well, and my gratitude for him being my voice will never be able to be put into words. All I can say is I highly recommend him. Along this journey I found a quote, "Pride is focuses on WHO is right, humility focuses on WHAT is right." Matthew is truly one of the most humble souls I've come across in life, which was refreshing. He kept a calm demeanor throughout, even when buttons were pushed. He will represent you well and leave your faith restored in the justice system and in humanity.

First off, I would like to thank Mr. Calderon on a flawless victory that ended with the cases being dismissed. Mr. Calderon is a man of his words and works none stop. He’s an excellent attorney I wouldn’t hire nobody but him should I need his services again. Also, I like to thank Carlee as well for being there and answering my phone calls and emails. Well Done Calderon Law Firm.

Stephen is an amazingly talented attorney! He helped me resolve several longstanding NFA matters swiftly. When you call - it's Attorney Stamboulieh who answers the phone - and that personal attention carries over into his results. If you want an attorney that will fight for your Constitutional rights as if they were his own - especially 2nd Amendment rights - he's your man. 5/5 Would Recommend!

Every once in awhile, there's a person that comes along that raises the bar so far above everyone else by their knowledge, expertise, and client interaction that they become the example for others to try and follow - Stephen Stamboulieh IS the one that has raised that bar. He was made for this. I have never had an attorney spend the time, dedication and building a personal relationship with a client like he does. In my opinion his characteristics are unmatched and I am blessed and honored to have had him at the "captains wheel" of my case. His diligence and determination changed my life for which I'll be forever grateful. Forget the rest, get the BEST, and that person i Stephen Stamboulieh

Stephen took my case when other attorneys refused. It was a case against a highly political entity in Mississippi who have many, many attorneys on “outside” retainers. This prevents them from representing a person bringing suit against the entity. Stephen had no qualms about taking my case. I must say he fought a great fight for me and we did claim victory in my case, although the specific details can’t be discussed. I highly recommend Stephen Stamboulieh as an attorney should anyone need representation. In my opinion, he is the ABSOLUTE BEST attorney you could hire to represent your interests!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Madison, Mississippi?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
