Family law is no doubt often fraught with emotion and the potential for unexpected high risk situations; our case certainly has been and it's important to have a highly competent advocate who is also a good listener and available promptly when you need to speak to them. DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS FIRM. I hired Stange Law Firm in February of 2015 for a paternity case. What I wanted was to simply get a schedule, child support and custody set in place. This ended up costing me $23,242.36 and the case lasted a year and a half. The most infuriating part was finding out that my lawyer with Stange Law Firm never filed the new withholding order. So after 18 months and $23,000, my child's father was paying the same amount although we signed off on something different. They literally did not do their job. Also, all of the reviews stating how they excessively charge your credit card you gave them for a retainer "discount" is true. In addition, like many other reviews I have seen, it is common for lawyers to suddenly quit the firm. My initial lawyer, Adam Shaffer, left in the middle of our case and we were reassigned to Kevin O'Reilly. It took me finding an excellent lawyer to confirm my suspicions about Stange Law Firm. UPDATE: I called Stange Law Firm to file a complaint about the withholding order never being filed. I was told that he [the lawyer from the firm] would take care of it and file it free of charge. Two weeks later, it still hasn't been done. I called Stange back and was told that his supervisor said to hold off on taking care of it so they can continue to "review". They told me one thing and did another without even taking the courtesy to call me and let me know.

This law firm is like most law firms a firm filled with professional hustlers, who pry on people in an uncomfortable situation. It is better to hire a paralegal to help you do the paperwork and how to navigate through your divorce. These lawyers don't want to work for a client they want to count the hours before you fire them and send you a bill that's it. Same with most lawyers advertising on the internet. If they can't tell you the process of what is exactly going to happen and the steps in specifics walk out the door. I lost money with this law firm because my lawyer Lindsey Balaco just went willy nilly on doing research on me, her client, and never even had a conversation with me. And charged me to get research on me. What the? Just screw these people they're full of it.

This was my first experience in dealing with the lawyer and a law firm. My lawyer Eric Sexton was very helpful with my custody battle. He shared his own experience dealing with his custody battle and as a father I could relate to him and trust him. When I was ready to settle my case Eric suggested we fight for more time with my son and I'm glad I took his advice because we got more time. He was very knowledgable and always a please to talk to on the phone. I'd highly suggest him to anyone!

My divorce was finalized yesterday, May 15th, 2017, after only 4 months. I used Chad Hager in Union, Mo. He and his staff were wonderful throughout the whole process. He answered all my silly questions and never made me feel like I was asking too many. I went into this clueless, and I'm so grateful for all their help. I highly recommend this law firm.
