Going through a divorce is emotionally, mentally and physically the worst thing I’ve went through in my life. You hire a lawyer who is understanding and competent to help you get through this hard time. I received the opposite services. Mrs. Benner was unprepared, not knowledgeable about court procedures and caused more emotional, mental and physical hurt during a time I needed a professional. Between the stress of getting an unwanted divorce and the stress Mrs. Benner caused in the process, I was unable to work and struggled daily. The only reason I was granted anything in my divorce after leaving my ex with everything besides a few belongs that I took for me was because of my mother. My mother put together all documentation for court, researched the law and policies as well as provided all emotional support during the process. I paid Mrs. Benner in full for her “lawyer degree” but would not recommend her to represent you during a horrible time unless you are prepared to feel worse and represent yourself without getting paid.

Tana is an active listener and follows through promptly. Her records are comprehensive and delivered in a timely manner. Having hired 2 attorneys previously for two separate family matters, I can say confidently that she was the most comfortable one to work with.

Hired Tana Benner to modify the child support owed by my child's father. He recently finished his medical residency and started making significantly more money but refused to pay any more than he did before. He kept giving us the runaround about his student loans and cost of living but completely ignored our child's necessities, childcare etc. Tana Benner came in and increased his monthly payments by a lot! He now has to cover not only necessities but also our child's activities as he's getting older. Thank you so much, Tana! I'm so glad I hired you! I was seeking advice on how to file for an amicable divorce for my parents who had been living apart for over 10 years. One was very ill and it was important to protect both of their assets in the advent of a catastrophic illness. As my parents lived in Columbia and I was almost 200 miles away, finding Tana Benner, who was recommended by my local attorney, was a godsend. We were able to handle all of the particulars electronically via email and Tana helped us divide up all of the assets in a way that way that was fair to both of my parents. Everything was as smooth as possible except for the archaic court system. It took over 5 months to get an uncontested divorce to be accepted by the court. Obviously not her fault, I would wholeheartedly recommend Tana Benner for any matrimonial matters that you may have to deal with.

I wish I had met Tana Benner 3 and a half years ago when I had first filed. I would have been divorced by now with her representing me. She is no-nonsense, takes no bs and gets right to work. She comes to court prepared, organized and is responsive to all questions and concerns, while also helping her clients navigate their frustrations. I'm sure everyone going through a divorce knows how emotionally draining these things can get and many attorneys tend to take advantage of clients in that emotional state. Tana Benner! I had really lost all respect and faith in lawyers until I met her. Like I said earlier I hired Tanner Benner in March of this year and in November (same year) I was granted a divorce. I cannot say enough positive things about Tana Benner of Columbia Family Law Group. Choosing an attorney for a divorce or any legal matter requiring representation is a scary and overwhelming thought. My fears were comforted by the professional, yet reassuring atmosphere in working with Tana. She is prompt, reliable and takes time with her clients. The communication channels were always open and Tana spent the extra time for my concerns to ensure she and I were always on the same page. Tana represented me for 2 different legal matters within the last year, and both cases were handled timely, to my satisfaction with a professional, yet personal touch. My favorite aspect of both of my legal dealings with Tana was the upfront information that she provided me with. In both instances, Tana calmed my fears from the beginning by giving me facts (applicable laws, appropriate processes to adhere to, timelines of completion, etc). As a client, that was extremely important to me, as I do not function well in a world of the unknown!
