Firstly I usually never write reviews, when I do it’s only when I find someone, a company or product that absolutely blows me away. My divorce was as messy as it gets with serious accusations (both sides) and a court appointed GAL to represent our two children. I had started my divorce with another attorney who did not listen to what I was saying and was recommending things I did not want to give up or do. Best decision I made was to switch counsel (early in the process) to Christy Gondring at Berkowitz Cook. Christy is a family law rock star, she knew when apply pressure and when to ease off, Christy knows the local KS/MO laws inside out and her ability to work with even the most difficult of opposition is phenomenal. Most importantly Christy takes the time needed to fully understand each individual situation and is honest on where things may or may not land. Purely because of Christy, I have 50% time with my kids when the ex was trying to take them away from me. Christy/Berkowitz-Cook are the only family law group in the area I would recommend - a contentious divorce is one of the most difficult things people can go through, do yourself a favor and let Christy make it less stressful for you and your family.

This law firm put itself on a national magazine as one of the best in KC—-very crooked business here. Avoid Christina Gondring, particularly. The experience here was possibly as traumatic as the divorce. She gave my assets away, missed court suspenses, did no negotiations and coerced me at the last minute. And she took two full days to “prepare” for court (on top of the two days spent in court) and lost everything—- relocation, parenting plan, child custody, division of pension and child support. I could have gotten more accomplished without her $$$$ SERVICES.

Gail Berkowirz was my attorney for my divorce. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. She never prioritized my case or my needs. She made promises and never followed through on her processes which cost me thousands of dollars in settlement proceeds. My ex husband was also an attorney and her lack in effort and accountability was clearly negligence. Clearly, she realized her lack of effort and refunded some of my retainer. In the end, I was forced to agree to a settlement that was biased and unfair due to her lack of providing me good council. Apparently, my case was NOT a priority for her and as a single women was put at a big disadvantage believing she would take care of me as her client. I highly recommend you go else where if you want a good attorney!

Great law firm unfortunately we had Judge Sill Rogers who was racist and will rot in hell!

Preston is very knowledgeable and was always quick to respond to e-mails & calls. I felt that he truly gave my case the attention it needed to ensure the best outcome for me.

Preston Drobeck was the attorney for my case. Not only was Preston easy to work with - he was prompt, very responsive, intelligent, and gave excellent legal advice and guidance. Having a difficult case was very hard for me to manage and Preston and his team worked very hard to make this process as smooth as possible. Preston has a strong work ethic and cares about this clients- I honestly would highly recommend him to anyone for legal matters.

I am so pleased with Christy Gondring’s work, there are no words worthy. "Thank You" "Good Job" "Excellent News" are just not worthy.

Erica Driskell is incredibly detail oriented, knowledgeable and sharp. Despite how complicated and ugly my case got, she was on top of every detail, every step of the way, providing excellent counsel and guidance. She also understands the process intimately and was known to and respected by the judge in my case, which is an important factor. I can't recommend her highly enough!

I give Gail Berkowitz my highest recommendation! I had a complicated divorce with 3 businesses and a shrewd spouse with a former judge in the county as opposing council. I filed the first week January 2017. I worked with one attorney who wasn't bad but whom I worried wasn't a match for the other attorney. After 6 months of no progress, I asked some of KCs top executives who the best divorce attorneys were. They gave me 2 names, one of which was Gail Berkowitz. I mistakenly hired the other one. After another 8 months and an extreme amount of money and no progress, I hired Gail. She and the team she put together for me (Arielle Spiridigliozzi & Sonya Roach) did more for me and my case in one weekend than the other two had done in 14 months. In 2.5 months my divorce was down and I had saved $150,000 from the best option the last attorney had presented. I really can't say enough.
