I was having my son's name changed. Doug did a good job getting it done but he spoke with my ex-husband right before we saw the judge and then suggested we drop the case. I refused and we won the case. If I had listened to his "advice" my son would still not have the name change which he asked for. I felt like he was putting his personal beliefs and feelings into my case. I would not use him again.

He's outgoing, loud, and (I mean this the nicest way possible) fairly condescending, which is the perfect combination for a lawyer. He is so willing to work with you on payments. Its not always easy to come up with a lot of extra money and he seems to understand that. He never has to ask you to remind him what case hes working on, he already knows, and he knows about new cases before you tell him. Every single one. He's blunt. And he wears funny clothes sometimes. He's a really good lawyer. Just to take on the caseload that we presented him said how good he was. Several other lawyers wouldn't even give us an estimate bc there was too much going on, but he's worked with us since day one. And, while my boyfriend is probably going to prison for a hot minute, he's definitely not going to go as long as he should be. Lol

Sleazy lawyer, plays dirty. He repeatedly doesn't send notifications of hearings, but signs as if he has done the task.

Doug helped me in a somewhat messy divorce. Here is why I think you should choose Doug Smith to represent you. I called Doug and about 12-20 other attorney's in the St. Louis area. Doug was one of the first to call me back and discuss details. He quoted a fair price and from the start offered very solid advice. Some of the other attorneys I called actually told me "Not Retaining Me Will Be The Biggest Mistake Of Your Life". Doug had no pressure behind his service and his results were outstanding. It was not an easy divorce and Doug did a great job to get me through this. Most of all he looked out for me and my interest moving forward. I feel he did a tremendous job doing so. Everything from start to finish working with Doug was handled with class. 5/5 stars all the way around.
