Looking at the reviews it is very evident that people are not happy with his performance. I used his services as my family had in the past. Mainly his father prior to his retirement. Mr. Todt failed to appear at my hearing for a family access motion due to his vacation plans did not return him to St Louis properly. Lost my marital home due to the lack of communication, preparation and knowledge prior to a hearing. I’m not mad or upset. I do agree he is rude and aggressive with his clients. He is narcissistic for sure. My family and I will not return and I did seek other council for my divorce. I filed a bar complaint and received a response from Mr Todt that did show his true colors. I plan to push forward with a Malpractice suit due to the nature of neglect. Stay away!!!

As part of the division of marital goods, I was awarded the house, but Mike Todt was not bright enough to get the now ex to sign a quickclaim deed at that court date. Then after repeatedly requesting that my council get the necessary quickclaim signed. I was dropped by Mike Todt because in his words I was unresponsive and was not following the instructions of Mike Todt and his assistants. Their instructions were to refinance the home and complete a series of 125 questions and provide supporting documents to all answers. The house refinancing is impossible without the quickclaim signed by the co-borrower ie. my now ex. and the questions were not needed as was proven by a letter from the opposing counsel that stated "we have everything we need these folks just need swift closure". The cost of services up to being dropped was, $15,000.00, and in the end, the house went to foreclosure because the ex never signed. The loss of council and resulting loss credibility with the courts ultimately resulted in losses of over $100,000.00 by the end of the divorce and continues to cost me nearly $2,000.00 per month with no resources to hire additional counsel to correct the mistakes Mike Todt made. When the divorce was over I met with a firm to discuss my options I was informed with no surprise and in a matter of fact way that my first council has a track record of taking the money and dropping clients after providing little or no services and that I could not have been dropped at a worse time which was 3 days before another important court appearance. I only gave one star because the billing of time and invoicing I got were spot on I can say without hesitation or doubt not one word spoken between myself and Mike Todt or any of his staff wasn't accounted for and billed for.
