I came to Bruning Law after badly fracturing several bones in my wrist at work requiring surgery. After several days of getting no information from my employer for medical care through workers compensation, I went on line to see what I might be able to do so that I could see a surgeon {I’d been told I needed To see a hand & wrist specialist within 48 hours After being seen in the Emergency Room. I went on several different websites to see what options might be available for me and unexpectedly received a call from Bruning Law. I wasn’t really thinking of suing them, I just wanted to see a doctor & have my wrist repaired. I did get some information from the sites I went on and Bruning, but still, at that time had no Intention of suing my employer. I broke my wrist on Monday. The following Saturday, still with no information from my employer, was when I resorted to self help by going online. Early Monday morning one of the other shift Leads called me to say she called HR to see if she could help in any way. She then arranged for me to see a surgeon in my area who was one of the top 5 hand surgeons in the country. She also told me the Information for workers compensation insurance was purposely being kept from me. HR had in fact sent that information to my Direct supervisor. the day after I broke my wrist. They were able to see me on Monday had surgery the following day. This was not a friend, we actually didn’t really get along that great she just couldn’t believe a big company was allowing someone to go for so long without medical care when I’ve been told I would have nerve damage if it wasn’t taken care of in a timely manner. I’m Very grateful that she stepped in and did that for me. After surgery, I called Bruning Law. They were the first ones that reached out to me in fact the only ones on that Saturday. Many called during the week after surgery I was Originally assigned another attorney at Bruning I think Kelly? And I don’t recall her paralegals name. I had very little interaction with the original attorney or her paralegal because it was given to another attorney and her paralegal, Daija Nellums. Erica Radford would go on to represent me until the end of my case. Daija Was in constant contact with me either through email text or phone calls for well over a year. She is an absolute ROCKSTAR for your company. She talked me off the ledge many times over the 20 months I was represented by Bruning. During that time, there would be so many hurdles my employer would throw out, I just wanted to give up find another job somewhere else and let it all go. Daija truly IS that sweet, wonderful voice you hear when speaking with her over the phone. she’s incredibly knowledgeable, I could call or message her and get an answer from her pretty quickly. Very rarely did she have to go ask someone for an answer that she needed to give me. I could tell she was involved in my case and knew things pertaining specifically to me and I know she was dealing with far more than just my case. You could often hear her multitasking while on the phone with her clicking away typing in the background moving around in her office and never miss a beat of conversation with me. She also let me talk to her about things that have absolutely nothing to do with my case which made me see that she really is that sweet, wonderful person you hear on the phone. When you’re dealing with something for nearly 2 years that is purposefully being dragged out from the very beginning it’s easy to get discouraged and want to give up & I’m sure that’s what they’re hoping. I’m really glad that Erica & Daija were representing me. I knew that Erica was advocating for me with attorneys judges, attorneys who never returned her call for days at the beginning of my case. When a different attorney took the over on the other side, my case progressed rather quickly. Thank you Erica & Daija, for all of the time & energy you put into my case.
