I have been absolutely impressed by the expertise, support, and positive results delivered by Joe Flees and his colleagues at Frank, Juengel, and Radefeld. I first encountered Mr. Flees's work as he contributed research and represented me at a number of hearings in my defense of sexual offense charges. Joe and his partner Dan Juengel led a defense that resulted in a favorable plea deal that I could not have imagined at the onset. After some years, I was shocked to learn of a completely false accusation made against me, and so I immediately reached out to the team at Frank, Juengel, and Radefeld once again. Throughout this ordeal, which involved a criminal investigation and an investigation by Social Services, I was able to rely on both Dan and Joe to advise me and prepare me for each step along the way. Both attorneys were aggressive in their pursuit of evidence in my case yet adept at presenting my case smartly to potential prosecutors, investigators, and Social Services professionals. After learning that the allegations would not garner any criminal investigation (a huge relief), I worked exclusively with Joe Flees to fight the initial determination made by the Dept of Social Services. Due to my prior plea deal and the fact that DDS has a much lower threshold for determining possible guilt this was not a slam dunk. Joe's support was invaluable, his research impeccable, and his clear and thoughtful representation led to a ruling in my favor. My son was arrested on a felony CP charge. The family had no idea what was going on, what to do, or where to turn. Joe is persistent, concentrated and provides inventive defense. I was charged with possession of CP, a felony B, which carries minimum five years in prison and a mandatory sex offender registration. The prosecutors wanted ten years in prison. In a high-tech field of law such as computer related obscenity crime, Joe has a firm grasp of how torrents and file-sharing software work. Since technology was involved with my criminal charge, the case was getting complicated. Joe took depositions of all the detectives involved and brought in an expert that analyzed my computers and helped sort through my case so he could provide the best defense possible. It was a long fight that took almost five years and four prosecuting attorneys (and the COVID-19 pandemic) since the initial arrest, and although I had admitted to the crime to the cops, Joe's perseverance and diligence brought the case to a favorable outcome. My charge was amended to non-registerable felony D and I was put on probation, thus avoiding both prison time and consequent sex offender registration. I am very thankful and highly recommend Joe if you need professional defense.

Joe was originally assigned at my military defense lawyer when I was facing serious charges from the Army after being cleared by local law enforcement in 2012. Unfortunately, he transitioned to civilian law midway through my case. He continued to be a passionate advocate and confidant while setting realistic expectations for the duration of our relationship. Ultimately, I was cleared of all sexually assault allegations but found guilty of consensual sodomy (a crime not recognized by any jurisdiction but the Military at the time). I was sentenced to confinement for 30 days and an Other than Honorable Discharge. I felt like my life was completely ruined as I lost a lot of opportunities, friends and confidence. Shortly after my conviction, consensual sodomy was finally completely abolished by the military. Consequently, I spent the next several years appealing my case but they fell on deaf ears despite the recent change in law. Finally, with my last shot at redemption, I turned to Joe who knew my case as good as anyone. He worked extensively to put together a strong packet and case for submission to the Army Review Board. We waited almost 3 years for a response but Joe consistently followed up. With the odds against me and nothing but years of despair and pain, Joe was able to secure an extraordinary outcome for me in the form of full-relief of the conviction and restoration of my honorable discharge! Because of Joe, I received the vindication I sought for almost 7 years and can now be proud of my military service and released from the resentment and bitterness of the last 7 years. I am grateful that Joe worked so tirelessly to change my life.
