Why paid an attorney high fees so he can take credit for supporting the community with your dollars?

If I could give 0 stars I would. My wife used Aaron Sachs and Associates once before when she was hit head on in an accident in 2016 and received what I would consider a very poor settlement given the fact that she lost full use of her arm for about a year and had to go to physical therapy. Fast forward to February of 2023 and an irresponsible driver hit another vehicle head on before smashing into her and totaling our vehicle, that's how fast they were going, totaled TWO vehicles. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital and suffered more life altering injuries. Against my better judgement she decided to call upon Aaron Sachs and Associates for their services, perhaps this experience would be better? Yet again, Aaron Sachs and Associates found a way to let my wife down and made sure the insurance company got one over on her. They talk a big game on their commercials about how they fight the insurance companies and look after their clients best interests, but in reality it's the opposite. To me they seem like the only money they care about is their commission, and don't give two cents about their clients. It's absolutely horrendous that on top of the meager settlement my wife has to pay them 36% for lawyer fees out of it! For what!? We were told there was supposed to be over half a million dollars split between my wife and the other victim. My wife got back $16,000 after lawyer fees. To say we are dissatisfied with Aaron Sachs and Associates would be an understatement, absolutely disgusted is what I am. Joel Black has to be one of the most incompetent attorneys I've ever seen. The communication between the office to my wife was almost non-existent, my wife was not updated with what was going on with her case in a timely manner, they let the insurance company basically make a deal behind my wife's back (which I've been told my another attorneys office I spoke to should have never happened) and I could go on and ON. I could have done a better job representing my wife, I'm pretty darn sure of it. If you or a loved one gets in an accident and you want a fair settlement and a lawyer that will fight for you don't use Aaron Sachs and Associates. I hope none of my family ever has another serious automobile accident, but if they do, Aaron Sachs and Associates would be the last ones I would call.

Very professional. Hired her and she handled my case thoroughly. I felt informed on all possible outcomes, no false promises and I was prepared for Court. Her advice is spot on (follow it!) and she truly protected the best interest of my child. I would recommend her to everyone that has a family law issue.

We have dealt with many attorneys over the years, but none have ever come close to the excellence of Bob Grosser. He is well versed in the law, and made us always feel as we were in the best hands, as we were. In so many legal situations, clients can feel overwhelmed and concerned. That was never the case with Bob. He always made us feel as if we were his only clients, and was never in a rush to answer all of our questions. He made a difficult situation comfortable, and we always felt at ease with Bob handling our legal needs. We will never consider another attorney for our legal needs, and would give him the highest recommendation possible.

I fought tooth and nail for two years getting nowhere with my claim. As soon as I hired him, progress showed immediately. He got me all my backpack and then some. He always talked to me every time I called, and always let me know where we were at at this point. Always clearly explained everything, made me feel like I was in the circle. Kind, respectful, and professional. I'm so glad I contacted them. Got me my livelihood back. I'm so grateful. They get things done for me. Thank you so much. It wouldn't happened otherwise.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Springfield, Missouri?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
