Randall filed my DACA in his San Francisco office. He came across as caring & kind. In 2019 I tracked him down to help with my parents’ immigration papers. He said he can help & explained how easy & fast the process will be. My parents signed documents for their F.O.I.A & I sent the check to file their FOIA request with River Mountain Immigration. Then, Randall assured me over the phone that their FOIA request will be fast & that I should pay for their I-130 (5k) so when they receive the FOIA, they can get started on their I-130. Years passed, with little to no communication on my parents’ FOIA status-I had to constantly email them asking for updates- I decided in Nov. of 2022 to ask for my 5k refund because we didn’t know what was happening with my parents’ FOIA request(we weren’t getting updates). He agreed to my full refund & it’s Feb 6, 2024 & I still haven’t received my refund. I’ve been calling & emailing about my refund to no avail. I even sent a termination of service letter & I know they received it because I had it tracked. Because of this, I am depressed due to financial issues & uncertainty. I feel robbed & scammed.

I hired Randall to help Green Card application for my wife. Randall did not communicate with us regularly and whenever we reached out to him, he gave us all kinds of excuses in the world (moving to Montana, getting bit by a mosquitoe, going to Guatemala, going to these conferences with these important people, taking care of a sick puppy). We patiently waited 7 MONTHS for him to just send Green card application and apparently he did not even apply yet. We talked on the phone that he will give us a full refund by the end of November 2017. This is January 2018, and I still DID NOT receive the full refund. Now my wife has to work for a company that she hates but has to work because this company is the only one that sponsors her VISA; she would have gotten a Green Card by now and looked for a different job if he did his work properly. We trusted him and understood all kinds of excuses, waiting 7 MONTHS for him to just send Green Card application. He did not even keep his words that he will send us a full refund by the end of November 2017. Randall Caudle is irresponsible and extremely unprofessional.

We visited MANY lawyers to try and get help with my husbands immigration issue. Once we got scammed from a so called lawyer and a few other times we where told there was no hope for us. Randall patiently listened to our case, took lots of notes and quickly got his team together to help us get thru this issue. Randall is extremely knowledgable. He sits in panels and is always learning and is constantly updating his information on immigration. My husband is on his way back home from obtaining his legal status and he went thru the process in a very smooth manner. Randall is a gift from heaven, he truly is a blessing and such a gift to us all. We see him and the team as family, he was with us thru all the ups and downs and all the fear was taken away when he first met with us. We trust him whole heartedly, he is such a sweet man, very very compassionate, very honest, loving and my goodness when you meet him you will feel like you are in the best care ever.

We hired David for a business litigation matter. He knows the law, explains the pros and cons of your case, is always responsive to phone calls, emails, and questions, and writes clear and concise court documents. He works well in adversarial situations, knows how to fight for his clients, is always prepared, and is very professional. He has a level head and works hard. If you need a good lawyer, hire David. We had an excellent outcome.

We did some estate planning with Amy. She made the experience a lot easier than we thought it would be. Never fun having to think about this stuff, but Amy was there 100% if we had questions or concerns. Would definitely recommend Amy!

Bob is an amazing attorney. He was able to help my partner and I through the B-1 and K-1 visa process. Incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and honest. I feel very confident with Bob and have no doubts that his services will help us get our desired result. He's great at follow-through & follow-up. His instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I really have no idea what we would have done without him. He makes the vague, ambiguous language of the USCIS easy to understand. If you ever need any assistance or have any sort of immigration questions-he is definitely your guy.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Missoula, Montana?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
