Fist let me start by saying in retained Mr. Bianco to represent me in my divorce case after my temporary hearing only because my original attorney wanted too large of a trail retainer. So keep in mind I was already set for trail at the time I retained Mr. Bianco but we did have a couple of months to work with and he ensured me that we had more than enough time, in the beginning he talked a very good game with different strategies and approaches we could take to get me the custody and parenting time that I wanted, if my ex wasn’t willing to agree but at the end of the day he was very quick to try to get me settle on every issue that we had. Usually when you settle on things it’s like a compromise like: (I’ll settle on this issue if I can get up to 50% parenting time) but wanted to settle on things where I got nothing out of it. The parenting time and custody I had stayed the same, he did absolutely nothing to even try to get me more parenting time even though my ex agreed I should have more parenting time and I have several emails and text messages to confirm this and it was part of the reason why I settled on a school issue we had, but with just one day before court Mr. Bianco and myself were still working out the terms for which I would agree to settle on after this discussion Mr. Bianco said he would contact opposing counsel and call me back but I didn’t hear from Mr. Bianco until 8:30am the day of court and we had court scheduled at 9:00am, he show up to Court around 8:50am giving me very little time to review and read the decree and parenting plan I was to sign and at the time informed me that the know didn’t want to agree on the 50% split on parenting time and this is right before court was to start . Knowing we were not prepared for trail on any issue, which is not a good feeling. I felt forced into settling because at that point I had nothing prepared to even try to prove my case with the issues I did have. After I had time to fully review they decree and parenting plan I informed Mr. Bianco of the issues that I had and his response was pretty much was he didn’t want to take any of these issues to the judge, in fact he told me he didn’t “believe” we could change anything which tells me he didn’t know and didn’t even feel like finding out or her was just flat out lying and both are pretty bad considering how much money I spent for this service. Mr. Bianco also misadvised that whatever I spent on my children’s health insurance premium would be deducted from child support at that exact dollar amount and that wasn’t the wasn’t at all the case. There was also some time sensitive issues that I expressed to Mr. Bianco needed to be taken care of before trail that did not because of Mr. Bianco lackadaisical approach. I feel like you pay an attorney for a service, they have more knowledge and experience and should be able to help a lot more than if you were to go at it alone, at the end of day I feel like I gained nothing from hiring Mr. Bianco and would have ended with the same deals representing myself.
