I bought a house that had mold Judd and staff help us though the whole process. It was a long process with the Court System & Contractors Board, the Mold Specialists he referred us to did a wonderful job cleaning and testing the house so we can move in. Judd was on it all the way, we settled the case. He is my Attorney and I consider as real friend. I would refer Judd and Staff.

My husband and I retained Judd Balmer for our multi faceted case, which had multiple defendants, many layers, and many failures from various “professionals” to include realtors, pest control company, mold remediators, and the original owners of the home we purchased. We had initially retained a different attorney, but quickly switched counsel to Mr. Balmer upon reviewing his credentials and extensive experience in mold and ‘failure to disclose’ cases. Over the course of a nearly three year long lawsuit, Mr. Balmer did not disappoint. His knowledge of toxic mold exposure, retaining the most qualified experts, and litigating his cases with the most effective strategies are second to none. Knowing our attorney had the situation well in hand went a long way to easing our angst in an otherwise extremely stressful situation, and ultimately he settled our case with all defendants to our satisfaction, despite their numerous attempts to evade responsibility via the court system. If you are facing a case of toxic mold exposure, failure to disclose, construction defects etc., I would recommend Judd Balmer without hesitation.

My Experience with the Balmer Law Firm: On October 2015, we contacted the Balmer Law Firm for legal advice regarding the mold spores in the home that was cause by construction defect. Mr. Balmer came by house and consulted with my family and I, and shortly after, we engage The Balmer Law Firm on September 8, 2015 to financially protect us from paying thousands of dollars in repairs. Almost one year to the date, the case settled out of court. My family and will be forever grateful to the Balmer Law firm for protecting our interest. We were anxious and frustrated during the entire process because we did not have the money to do the initial repairs and god forbid one of the kids get sick from this stuff. We called Balmer law firm religiously only to receive vague responses in return, in –fact, we decided to slow down and call him once a month for update, which was our way of managing our emotions. They would eventually follow up with a phone call, and/or, email with 48 hours. Finally, we arrived at the conclusion, the less we called the more time he would have to work on our case. To the general public, Initially, we drove ourselves crazy calling Balmer office every week for an update. Please do not do this. If he is talking to you every day, and/or, every week, he has less time to work on your case. If you want the best attorney who specializes in the type of cases, than be prepared to follow his instructions and be patient! My family and I, were extremely elated (happy) with the results of the case. It took a little while and we were very anxious throughout the process, but it was well worth the wait. Balmer and staff exceeded our expectations. If you have a mold or construction defect problem, I would strongly recommend Team Balmer. We owe the Balmer Law Firm a debt of gratitude and I just want to say thank you Judd!!

Corinne Price with Fine, Carman, and Price Law Group is extremely knowledgeable regarding family law. During the consultation she walked me through the whole divorce process and suggested next steps. Her determination to get her clients the best deal is very evident in and out of the courtroom. She was able to quickly draw up and get me the parenting plan and child support I wanted. When my case ended up going to trial, Corinne came prepared with all the documents she needed. Because of this, the judge denied my ex-husband's request for spousal support. Her actions in and out of the courtroom exceeded my expectations. Corinne Price does not back down! Instead she backs up her statements with evidence, facts, and the law. If you want an attorney who is prepared, detail-oriented, and extremely knowledgeable I would highly recommend Corinne Price.

Unfortunately I had to go through a divorce, but fortunately Rachel Jacobson was my attorney. Rachel has an exceptional knowledge of the law, and always took time to listen and communicate. At every turn when I was willing to settle for less, she was there to advise me of what was allowed within the law, and what was in my best interest as well. Interactions with her staff (Isaac), was always professional, couterteous, and thorough.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Henderson, Nevada?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
