Joke of a company. If you had a case more then 3 months ago, forget about it. They just sold the name "Half Price Lawyers" and they don't keep records on any case. So if you used them, don't count on half price lawyers being able to help you with your case.

I'm going to say 2 different things in this review. 1) Half Price Lawyers did an AMAZING job with how they handled my case. My brother and I filed bankruptcy 2yrs ago and used Half Price Lawyers for everything. Their fees are the lowest in the entire state, the process was extremely simple, everything was done by them, and within 3 months my entire bankruptcy was done and my discharge letter was in my hand. I'm now over a 700 credit score with credit cards, auto loans paid off, and a mortgage on the way. Half Price Lawyers helped turn my life around and I would recommend them for anything legal. 2) For those people with negative reviews, you clearly don't understand how the legal system works. Half Price Lawyers charge upfront fees because ALL legal businesses charge upfront by law. No legal representation can be made without proper compensation first. Second, they use the building they do and not upgrade because the money brought in is used to hire more competent lawyers to further help the public more as well as bring in new practices. They don't need a super fancy building to have the best service possible. It's business ethics, people. Third, anything legal takes time, patience, and money. Half Price Lawyers took 3 months to discharge my bankruptcy, which on average would normally take 6 months to an entire year somewhere else. Nothing legal is fast or cheap. Anyone looking for legal assistance should contact Half Price Lawyers. Hands down.

Coburn gets an “F” from me on his professional and personal ethics, and for those of you who grew up without F’s on grade cards, it is the same as “Not Passing” or “Unsatisfactory” in modern schools. My son got in trouble behind the wheel. I contacted Coburn, who told me by phone, that it was $1,800 for his services and that “since it was a first offense,” he can likely get it knocked down to a “reckless operation” charge. I had him on speaker phone and my wife was party to the conversation. The next day, I decided to get the money together and hire him for my son. I called him once again to assure myself that everything was inclusive. He, once again, assured us even more strongly that he can “get it knocked down to a reckless operation charge,” that he has seen several of these before and that there should be no problem. When the date rolled closer to the hearing, the DA had not made any offers to Coburn (or my son) for a reduced charge. I called Coburn’s office and left a message. No response. On the day of the hearing, we showed up in court and Coburn met us in the hall way. He pulled out a piece of paper and said, “They offered a plea bargain. If my son confessed to the more serious charge, then they would drop the minor charges.” I responded, “Wait a minute. I’m paying the bill here. What happened to what you told me by phone that you would get it reduced to reckless operation?” Coburn snapped at me, “I didn’t say that.” Stunned that he was willing to lie, when my wife was a party to the call, I looked at my son, who also was taken back by this. I responded, “Yes you did! You told my wife and me together that you can likely get this reduced to reckless operation, which is why we hired you. Now what happened?” Again, he snapped at me again, “I didn’t say that.” Those were the wrong words to say to me. Had he said that he tired, then it would show effort, but instead, he denied that he even said it and is now calling my wife and me a liar. That is a game changer. I responded to him, “Yes you did! Do you think I’m standing here making that up? My wife heard you also.” At that point, the time was drawing close to going into the courtroom, so I had to do some quick thinking for Coburn, since he wasn’t doing so well at it himself. I reminded him once again that I am paying the bill and that this is not what we paid for, so I said, “We need time. Go in there and get a 30 day continuance while we think about it. Tell the DA that we need time and that we want a month.” He was very unhappy with that decision and showed it in his expression, but he went in and did as I told him. That, my friends, is the one act that saved my son’s neck and his future. Quick thinking on my part. Within the next three days I contacted other lawyers. Ross Goodman, the son of the former Las Vegas Mayor, Oscar Goodman, and the current Mayor Carolyn Goodman, took our case, but it was going to be a lot more. His price was $5,000 to get it reduced to reckless operation, and, by golly, he did it!!! He worked hard for the money and went to the DMV hearing to drill the officer with questions, then he went to the DA with his plea and got the offense dropped to reckless operation. I wrote to Coburn and left telephone messages stating that Mr. Goodman did what he could not do and that I wanted at least part of my retainer returned, since he did not complete the case. I never heard from him and did not get anything in return. At least my son is back on track, but it was totally due to Mr. Goodman’s expertise and had nothing to do with the failed promise of Coburn. Coburn knew that somebody could get it reduced, but Goodman was the man for the job, not some wimpy paper pusher. My suggestion to everyone is to put out the money for a good lawyer with experience, like Goodman. You get what you pay for.

This place is a joke. Half price lawyers?? They lie, they charge (up front) more for a typical chapter 13 bankruptcy than any other attorney. Its the typical bait and switch. With all the money they want up front, you would think they could make their office look better. Disgusting.

I have been using half rice Lawyers for years for every traffic ticket that me or my family have had and they have always taken care of business keeping fees low and no documentation reported to the insurance companies. They save from high court fees and insurance and I will always recommend Half Price Layers to anyone. I am not a paid spokesperson.

I would not recommend anyone use these attorneys for a criminal matter at least. Perhaps their expertise should remain with traffic tickets. I contacted them prior to my upcoming court date because I had not been able to reach my attorney that I had retained months ago. I was very concerned about having representation in Court. I paid them a thousand dollars in cash. on my court date an hour or so after my case was called I received a call from my original attorney. (The issue with him will be addressed in a separate review) he did not know that I had retained somebody else because nobody else was there to represent me. the following day I heard from half price lawyers. they had gone to the courthouse but several hours after my case had been called. they had however at that time placed them self as my attorney. I advise them I wanted to discontinue having them represent me and was told that they would have to charge me $400 for having gone to the courthouse and would only refund 600. I called everyday to see if my refund had been processed and If could pick up a check. after a few days I spoke with a woman who said it would be ready in a couple days so that I could come get it. When I called again after a couple days they said they'd received the authorization to process my refund but it had not yet been processed. I expressed my frustration and let them know that I had given cash so there should not be any significant hold up. I told them they had been very specific about when they needed my money in order to be in court and I felt a professional response would be to provide me with a equally specific date that I could receive my refund. the woman I was speaking to informed me it would be 2 weeks. I suspect but cannot prove her tone was very Hostile. It has now been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive my refund or even a return call for the short messages I leave saying simply that i am inquiring about my refund and including my name and number. it must have been my guardian angel saved me from having them as representation. A firm that must hold my measly funds and cannot process a refund from a cash payment is not someone I would trust with my legal affairs.

Wow! Talk about someone in Vegas that actually knows what they’re doing, someone that has heart in their profession. I recommend Marc Saggese to anyone that is need of excellent representation even against the most unfair odds he stood truthfully and fought for me even though he had advised against it. "This is a guy I am glad to have on my side of the court." Thank you Marc and associates. John B.

I retained Half Price Lawyers for Divorce proceedings. I was told the whole process would take about 3 months. I never received updates from anyone in the office, and every time I called I was given a story that all was on the up and up and things were proceeding as planned. I received a letter from the District Court of Las Vegas, and assumed it was the Divorce Decree, but upon opening I received a notice of action being cancelled for non action. I called and was told that they had not taken action because fees had not been paid. Not the case and when I asked to see my file, the fees had been marked as paid and all of the sudden there was a flurry of action. DO NOT RETAIN THIS FIRM FOR ANYTHING, YOU WILL BE SORRY.

You get what you pay for. I went there for representation on a first offense pos of marijuana over 1 oz charge. My friend and I got the same charge on the same day. He has had 2 prior convictions for drugs before. He hired Andrew Levitt and I hired Jeff Temple Half Price Lawyers. I meet with Jeff 1 time he takes my money and i never hear from him again. I goto court and am shocked at what im facing. The guy half price sends to represent me tells me and my wife straight to our faces in the waiting room at court that i should have hired a "real" attorney. So here i am sitting in the waiting room having to make a decision that effects my whole familys life and the guy whos supposed to be there for me is telling me i should have hired a "real" attorney. WTF???? I had to go back to court and yet another very sloppy guy shows up and says he is my attorney. I asked him who he was and told him he was not the person that i had hired. Well after all of that i learned a very very valuable lesson. If you value your freedom and you want a professional attorney that actually cares about you DONT CALL HALF PRICE LAWYERS!!!!!!! Lots of good lawyers let you make payments for their services. Dont let money be the deciding factor for your life. Oh ya my friend that hired the real attorney with 2 prior drug cases got a online drug class and a 90 day suspended sentence for the same charge
