Daniel T. is an excellent attorney whose legal expertise is unparalled. From the very beginning, it was clear that he had a solid understanding of the complex legal nuances involved in my case. Unlike many attorneys, he explained process, all of the steps involved, tailored his approach to address the unique aspect of my case. His command over legal concepts, combined with his strategic thinking made it an open-and-shut case with the results I wanted.

I had an accident on vacation in Las Vegas, and everyone advised me to retain an attorney. I searched online reading through sooooo many reviews. I came to High Stakes as they were switching names (one of the previous partners retired if I remember correctly) and taking in all the negative and positive reviews into consideration for each firm I was interested in, I decided to go with Mr. Poisson’s firm. My attorney was Dj and attorney assistant was Emily. From the beginning Emily told me not to expect much communication, as cases can take a long time to have any updates and developments. But her and Dj were in pretty regular contact with me. Dj would even text me with updates sometimes (I prefer texting to calling) and it made me feel like my case was actually important to them. I had never been through anything like this before, so I was nervous. I was very stressed out about having to do a deposition and Dj called me the day before and we did a whole a practice deposition so that I wouldn’t feel so scared. It helped me feel prepared and confident. I don’t live in Nevada, so I appreciated how hard Dj worked to communicate via zoom. I chose to go in person for mediation, and I got to meet Dj in person. He made everything much less stressful. I felt fully prepared and he made me feel at ease. We resolved my case (from what i understand) relatively quickly, and I was extremely happy with the outcome. I saw someone else give a bad review for Dj, and I have to say I completely disagree. I felt he was very knowledgeable. He was patient and answered a lot of questions about laws and the workings of lawsuits and such. And he’s very down to earth as well, I didn’t get any condescending or pretentious energy from him at all. I hope to never need an injury lawyer again, especially outside of my home state, but if I ever do get hurt in Nevada again, I am 1000% going back to Attorney Daniel Tafoya (Dj). As the bad reviewer said, they do ask for you to review after your case is done. But they don’t guilt you. And he didn’t ask me to leave a 5 star review either. He asked for an honest review. And, that was weeks ago he asked. He hasn’t pestered me about it or anything (I’m a procrastinator). He asked one time, for an honest review (if I found time) so I feel it’s unfair to hold that against him (or anyone else for that matter). I get asked to leave reviews by DoorDash, Uber drivers, Walmart pickup employees, literally anywhere pretty much. anyways, TL;DR This firm exceeded my expectations. My case was settled and I’m very happy with the outcome. Dj was profession and kind and helpful. Great communication. I would recommend this firm to anyone who was injured in Las Vegas

**DO NOT HIRE THIS LAW OFFICE** I recommend you call around many attorneys and see your options. High Stakes Injury Law, including attorney Daniel J. Tafoya, Jr. and Legal Assistant Emily J. Mendez are NOT well experienced legal professionals. DO NOT TRUST them. My recent experience with them was horrific. The State Bar of Nevada will receive a detailed complaint for negligence and malpractice of my treatment and my settlement. I will be filing a TORT claim as I have retained an attorney in Nevada and they agree this Law Firm has committed negligence and malpractice. Inexperienced and misleading, DO NOT trust this Law Office. Other reviews are only good because they will ask you for a good review after they inform you of the settlement check you will be receiving. This is manipulative as if you were to give a child a candy and ask them for a hug afterwards. CALL AROUND FIRST! It won’t cost you anything to make sure you have the right people behind you!
