My husband and I are so grateful for attorney Russell J. Goldsmith! After applying for Social Security Disability on our own (and being denied), we turned to the Internet for help finding an attorney to file an appeal. We were impressed with his website and the reviews from other individuals and thought we’d give him a call. The staff spent weeks interviewing us via phone to try to understand my husband’s complicated case. Sometimes we’d be on the phone for an hour or two at a time explaining and clarifying. Finally we got the welcome news that Mr. Goldsmith had accepted my husband’s case and would represent us! His assistant Nicole then took over most of the contact with us, helping us to more accurately describe my husband’s unique challenges. Mr. Goldsmith then reviewed our appeal application and, without putting words in our mouths, asked probing questions that made us realize that what we had said — while true — didn’t SOUND like what we meant to someone who hadn’t personally experienced it. It opened our eyes as to why his application had initially been denied — meaning, we hadn’t done a very good job of putting words to paper. Mr. Goldsmith filed the appeal on our behalf and the waiting game began. Social Security came back with a demand for more information (which Mr. Goldsmith reviewed before submitting) and referred my husband to a Social Security doctor for an exam. Then we waited again. Mr. Goldsmith had warned us that 95% of electronic appeals were normally denied and we should expect to appear before an appeals board. But thanks to Mr. Goldsmith’s expert guidance, his understanding of how the appeals process works, and the extraordinary amount of time he, Nicole and the rest of his staff spent on our case, my husband’s was one of the 5% of cases approved on electronic appeal. We are so very, very grateful for the professionalism of Mr. Goldsmith and his staff, and for the caring way they treated us throughout the entire process. Navigating the complex and confusing avenues of applying for SSDI can be very stressful and overwhelming. Attorney Russell Goldsmith and his team take all of the guesswork out of the entire process. Honestly, when it came time to apply for disability a number of thoughts and feelings ran through my mind. I had a hard time applying for short term disability with my work and all the legal jargon flies over my head. My father for my entire life has had a debilitating physical condition and has been on disability and I have heard the horror stories from him and other about how hard it is to get. Personally, my disability is not as apparent as someone who is missing part of their foot and has degenerative disc disease. What was going to happen to me? Was a lawyer going to be helpful? Was I going to be able to understand them when they talked to me? I researched lawyers for about a month. I had suggestions from well meaning friends and family, google, and a number of websites before I found the Law Offices of Russell J Goldsmith. There were 2 reasons I originally decided to go with his team. 1. This is what Mr. Goldsmith does. He IS a social security disability lawyer. Hes been doing it for years. He is not a ______ lawyer and does this on the side. This gave me the confidence that if anyone knew what they were doing, it would be him. 2. When I called to do a primary interview and see what it would entail to hire Mr. Goldsmith I spoke to a woman named Taylor. She is one of three amazing woman that I dealt with during my time with Mr. Goldsmith but she was my first impression. She didn't give me a bunch of legal jargon, she talked like a human. I knew I made the right choice. I was warned this was going to take a long time, it's the government and the government does not move quickly but she promised the team would be with me the entire way. Nicole and Jenna helped me fill out any paperwork, update the SSD on my behalf, answer any questions I might have had, anticipate questions before I had them and they always responded to me within a few hours very rarely if ever was it the next day. In the end it took about 11 months, but they got the approval they initially told me would take over a year, maybe two. In conclusion I would recommend this team of generally amazing people to anyone who doesn't know where to start, has hit a road block, or just needs a helping hand in filing their disability paperwork or any appeals they may have to file. This team will have your back.
