Due to unfortunate circumstances, Tim was introduced into my life a little over a year ago. He was referred to me by a friend that spoke very highly of his work. I was previously with another attorney that had minimal accessibility and no vestment in my case. Well, all that changed when I met Mr. Tim Goulden! His availability is unheard of in this realm. The first phone call was on a Saturday morning, and several other calls even up to the current day are outside of his office hours. Tim is a stand-up guy, his experience, pro-active and detailed skills he brings to the table are very reassuring. Yes of course, he is doing this for his career and to obtain an income, though that is not at all the impression you get from any interaction with him. He truly wants to help people move on from their legal challenges and enjoy life. Tim treats you with respect and is outstanding at ensuring you understand every step throughout the process. He is honest and candid, he will not give you an expectation of something he doesn’t think he is capable of. The meticulous breakdown of the documentation, the actions of the occurrence and all the knowledge he brings to the courtroom from his experience in law enforcement are astonishing. It’s impressive to see him work and get the outcome he anticipated. I have gained a dear friend out of this process, I would be willing to do almost anything for him, even mow his lawn, lol. Along with the legal counsel he provides, he is an excellent therapist and sounding board when you need it as well. 😊 All joking aside, if you don’t choose Tim to represent you in your legal matter, you will be sadly disappointed.

I was wrongfully accused of something and facing a hefty sentence. Tim and Bobby listened to me carefully and helped me throughout the entire process. Nothing but professionalism and determination to prove my innocence from them. That’s exactly what they did. Not guilty Case dismissed. P.s. Tim in trial is a SHARK Highly recommend 10/10

Tim is the best ! I hired him after I fired another lawyer who wasn’t fighting for me . I had a suspended sentence and picked up 2 additional cases and the prosecutor was asking for jail time and Tim fought for me and found stuff wrong with my cases and I ended up with a suspended sentence and no jail time

Jessica is a very bright, knowledgeable attorney who is sensitive to her clients situation. She was my second and final attorney. Very personable and competent. My situation involved 3 children being moved out of state and into home schooling. Jessica, researched and offered advise and suggestions from past cases relevant to mine. Despite the complexities, she helped me get an amiable deal with my ex-wife within reasonable time and expense. I highly recommend her services!

i have known jessica for many years. so naturally when i needed legal help, she was the person i turned to. she was and has always been very kind and respectful. she listened to my situation and evaluated the options. she was quick to answer all my questions and did everything she could help me feel comfortable with moving forward. it was the best decision i could have made. i appreciate her help and advice and still call her for advice when needed which, of course, she is always there to help.

A Neighbor cut down my trees in Connecticut and Attorney Piedra and Christine were immensely helpful! They were very clear with communication every step of the way and Attny Piedra even got back to me during odd hours. I would highly recommend Attny Piedra as I could not have asked for anything to have been handled differently. Very professional, prompt, and clear in every regard. Christine is very responsive and immensely helpful. In dealing with Christine she is very insightful and knowledgeable and was a pleasure to deal with when Attny Piedra was unavailable. If you’re dealing with a timber trespass or someone who cut down your trees without your permission, you’ve them a call and ask for Attorney Piedra! Even if you’re out of state.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Nashua, New Hampshire?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
