I would recommend Atty. Keefe to anyone. He was willing to help, listen to my side and offer solutions. He was emphatic and down to earth. He truly helped me in a really tough time with such professionalism while treating me like a person. He defended me and was always a quick phone call away. If I need anything legally in the future, he will be my first call.

If you are ever in of representation I highly recommend Chuck Keefe. Chuck was wonderful to work with and exercised my rights as a civilian. The whole court process makes you feel guilty until proven innocent. Chuck was able to take the weight off my shoulders and make me feel like everything was being taken care of. Chuck and his team were able to prove that my rights were violated and all my charges were dropped. I learned from this process that just because someone carries a badge doesn't mean they don't make mistakes and can't learn from those mistakes as well. I believe everyone involved learned something from the ordeal and if it wasn't for Chuck and his team exercising law verses perception the result wouldn't have been the same.

Attorney Chuck Keefe, no need to look elsewhere if you’re seeking; legal counsel, legal representation, a defense attorney, a professional with compassion, someone who is knowledgeable, someone who has and exhibits integrity, ethics and honesty and someone who is well established and highly respected within the legal community. Attorney Chuck Keefe handled a serious legal situation for my son. Myself being the protective parent I scrutinized Chuck’s decisions, actions and behavior, throughout the entire process. I was able to experience ease, because of Chuck’s expertise and demeanor. Most importantly my son has benefited by having Chuck as his attorney, he now can move forward with his life without having lifelong legal consequences. Lastly I think it’s important to say we found and hired attorney Chuck Keefe only after we had hired and experienced two awful legal representatives prior, who we terminated. Wish we would have had Chuck from the beginning he was and is The Right Choice! Chuck and his staff are professionals!

A Neighbor cut down my trees in Connecticut and Attorney Piedra and Christine were immensely helpful! They were very clear with communication every step of the way and Attny Piedra even got back to me during odd hours. I would highly recommend Attny Piedra as I could not have asked for anything to have been handled differently. Very professional, prompt, and clear in every regard. Christine is very responsive and immensely helpful. In dealing with Christine she is very insightful and knowledgeable and was a pleasure to deal with when Attny Piedra was unavailable. If you’re dealing with a timber trespass or someone who cut down your trees without your permission, you’ve them a call and ask for Attorney Piedra! Even if you’re out of state.

By far, Attorney LaFrance from start to finish with my divorce case was extremely professional, well-detailed, informative, understanding and supportive. Communication was also top-notch with Attorney LaFrance. Clearly one can tell that Attorney LaFrance provides the respectful amount of attention, takes the time to listen and provide effective feedback in a very timely manner. I am very grateful I found Attorney LaFrance who successfully assisted me in the most difficult time of my life from start to finish. Thank you for everything, on behalf of myself and my daughter.

Patricia (Patti) LaFrance esq. Is an amazing attorney. She did a very nice job laying out exactly what my expectations should be during my divorce. She quickly ascertained the nature of my case and the unique challenges that I was left to deal with. She is particularly well versed and known for her advocacy in domestic violence cases. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised when our Judge knew her by first name and referred to her work when she was with the prosecutors office. The judge certainly seemed to value her legal arguments and opinions. Needless to say I got a more-than fair result in my divorce. If I should ever be in the unfortunate need for an attorney then Patti is the very first person I am going to call. Thank you Patti for your incredible effort. It made a big difference for my children and myself.

Patricia was hired to assist in appealing a denied claim filed with our insurance carrier for a large employee theft that occurred at my company. I had been battling back and forth for well over a year with our carrier before dismissing our current attorney and hiring Patricia. Patricia had the issue resolved for us within a couple months and our claim was paid in full. She has also been assisting us with the ongoing criminal investigation of the former employee and has been instrumental in keeping a very slow process moving forward. Patricia is personal, smart and extremely competent. I'd highly recommend hiring her for your legal matters.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Nashua, New Hampshire?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
