After telling Laurie about my neurological disability she tried to financially take advantage of me by putting a different price in the contract than what we discussed thinking I would not notice. When I confronted her about it, she refused to respond to me. In my first conversation with Laurie she was using vulgarities and then complained to me about how another client is trying to get their money back. Extremely unprofessional. Laurie later decided to withdraw from me case when I had asked her to hire a PI to get necessary paperwork for my case as I was unable to get it myself. Laurie refused. I tried to fight Laurie withdrawing from my case and we had a hearing. At the hearing Laurie LIED to the judge twice stating that I gave her less of a retainer than I really did and then told the judge that I signed a contract that I in fact did not sign. Then Laurie attempted to tell the judge about our conversations in email that are part of the attorney client privilege. Laurie has about the same integrity as Saul Goodman. She is a CRIMINAL Lawyer and should be disbarred. I began working with Attorney LaCoste before she went into practice for herself and I recently retained her again. Her knowledge of family law, including complicated financial components such as QDRO as it pertains to retirement plans and pensions is stellar. She is compassionate but direct and clear, laying out the process that lies ahead and really customizing responses for what is best in your unique situation. Laurie helped me win a court battle against a narcissistic person who was trying to keep my daughter away from me. I had alot of help from a friend through this whole process who recommended me to Laurie. If I hadn't hired Laurie to help me with this final hearing, I'm not sure I would have won. She knows all her laws and specifics and as we won the case to terminate guardianship I got to leave the courtroom crying from excitement. I spent thousands of dollars in my divorce case using Attorney Lacoste. She represented me for over a year. Then in late 2011, 6 weeks before my final divorce hearing, she dumped my case informing me that she had taken a job in the public sector. She notified me via a letter. She gave me no verbal notice in advance. No phone call... nothing. She left me high and dry. I had to cough up another retainer for another attorney. Sorry to say, I feel like I was cheated! How would you feel Attorney Lacoste? You knew my character and what I was up against. I simply cannot recommend you.

I have consulted and hired lawyer Laurie Lacoste for multiple occasions every time there has been glowing amounts of honesty, professionalism, and knowledge that has served me the best.

As anyone knows a divorce is a very stressful time emotionally and financially. Laurie was very patient and personable. She listened to all my stories and comprised a well thought out game plan that in my situation extremely limited the financial ramifications that a divorce can cause. She also recommended a mortgage company to me and i was able to purchase my own home within 8 months after the divorce. So yes I say Laurie is an ALLSTAR.

She seemed open to seeking guidance from outside sources when necessary and was very specific about what she needed from me in the year we worked together. I have not had much experience with lawyers but several months ago I needed one after I was sexually assaulted. On a recommendation, I called the Brown Law Firm and was introduced to Laurie.
