Entering into a family law matter is a painful and arduous journey to navigate. It’s filled with anxiety, plot twists, anger, frustration and confusion. This is where you’re at your most vulnerable and experience the most self-doubt. This is also the place where you need to be clear with yourself and others on what you’re fighting for and why you’re fighting for it. This is the time when you need an advocate who is willing to hear you, value you, be honest and transparent with you. Prior to retaining Amy, I learned the unfortunate lesson that not all lawyers operate this way. Prior to Amy, I had an attorney that made me feel like an invoice number. They couldn’t remember our last conversation and the action items discussed, but easily nickel and dimed me when I followed up on status updates. When a colleague of mine caught wind of the concerns I had with my legal representation, she implored me to give Amy a call, and so I did. In the span of our 45 minute phone call, I received more clarity and honest feedback about the predicament I was in than I had in the entire 7 months of my custody journey, so I retained her. Immediately, Amy worked feverishly to de escalate my custody matter providing me with honest feedback on where we were within my case and what our next steps needed to be. She always maintained a clear goal of what we were aiming for and always kept what was in the best interest of my child in mind (which is extremely important to have). When there were delays or other shenanigans were going on, she heard me through my tears and frustrations, showed true empathy and validated the feelings I didn’t want to speak on (again, important to have). Most importantly, I felt like she was ALWAYS working on my behalf. Just because I was out of sight did not mean I was out of mind. If I followed up on an action item, she was able to inform me of her last point of contact on the matter and what we were waiting on. Amy was the attorney that I needed all along, but didn’t realize I didn’t have until it was almost too late. Family law is already a difficult journey, choosing an attorney that will earnestly advocate for you shouldn’t be.

Ms. Harris was recommended to me by an acquaintance who had an extremely complicated custody situation. My divorce ended up being cut and dry, but we weren't sure that was going to be the case. Ms. Harris made me feel at ease immediately by explaining all strategies and courses of action. She was definitely not afraid to go to bat for me and was prepared to play hard ball if necessary. She is also a very compassionate person and made me feel at ease during the proceedings. I also found her rate to be fair and I was billed honestly. Unfortunately Mr. Winters made an already beyond difficult time for me even worse. Colluded with my former who has yet to produce any discovery. I found myself in a hopeless position and not only did I sign a PSA agreement under extreme pressure and with the balance of my parenting time in the air, he allowed and signed a consent order which took my kids from their Dad. Dispicable and Heartbreaking is an understatement. Illegal is about right. Go anywhere else. Still such a surreal experience. I wanted to die it was so bad
