She doesn't play games and considers each case in details - not like most attorneys who are robots. She researches each case individually and is thorough in her research.

Leaving a message is a joke. Her mail box is often full and when you do finally get through and leave a message she doesn't return the calls. The only time I had a chance to speak to her is the day of court providing she doesn't cancel. She did not follow through on how I suggested to peruse this case and proceeded to tell me the best way to go. Which seems to me, translated to the least amount of effort on her part. The reason I say this is simple, how could others involved in my case using different lawyers yet charged with the same exact charges, not to mention they had prior convictions be placed on probation? Matter of fact one of them with more charges came out better then myself. He received probation also. Being my first offense I would expect at least the same. I asked how this could happen. My conclusion, it is because Christina was court appointed to my case and she choose the easy road for her. Her suggestion on how to proceed succeeded in getting me time. Min of a year. I will be writing to NJ Office of Attorney Ethics about her incompetent behavior. Hopefully I can fire her and get my case appealed. I suggest anyone looking for a lawyer by pass this one.

Retained Miss Vasquez for a family court issue with divorced wife violating visitation order for our son. Miss Vasquez was not prepared for court and did not review any of the evidence I had provided for her not to metion she was really late . She never even reviewed the prior court orders that were active. The judge was asking her questions about the Court order and she was looking at myself for the answers and this was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. After court my x- wife immediately violated the order of visitation and when I advised me Vasquez of her actions she contacted her attorney. Honestly I don't know exactly what was discussed but Miss Vasquez later advised me she could no further represent me because of overwhelming work load. I would not recommend her services to anyone! Good luck on your search.

We had put off our Will preparation and POA designations forever and a day. After research into credentials, we went with Bratton Law...this was the right choice! Chris is super knowledgeable, is a common presenter on estate planning and elder law (clearly knows his stuff), and made our process worry free while answering all of our questions. They also have several offices, one of which was nearby and made meeting logistically easy. I would highly recommend, and will likely be using professional services from Bratton in the future.

We met with Rothkoff Law Group shortly after my father suffered a severe stroke and his outcome was uncertain. Jerry and his team were able to quickly assist us in preparing for the next steps in my father’s care while helping us carefully plan for my mother’s future. Choices had to be made and we were not prepared to navigate the process surrounding long-term care. The care coordination efforts we received were invaluable, giving us peace of mind that we were making the best decisions at each turn. The communication was clear and well documented, and we always received prompt responses to any questions or concerns we had. A sincere thank you to Jerry, Jennifer, Shannon, and everyone at Rothkoff for their guidance and support.

Best phone call I ever made. While speaking with Mr. Rothkoff for the first time, he asked "why are looking for legal help with managing your mother's estate?" As Power of Attorney for my mother, I was terrified I would make a mistake that would be to her financial detriment. I lived in one state, she was currently in another and was re-locating to a third. I had heard horror stories from people who just didn't know how to navigate elder care law. When I told him such, he replied: "We'd love to help you. When can you come in?" I felt like I'd just been welcomed to the family! The services provided by Rothkoff Law Group have proven invaluable. Every interaction with anyone from Rothkoff Law Group is pleasant and efficient. I'm really so grateful that I picked up the phone that day.

In a very tough year, after losing my sister who was primary care for my elderly parents, Jerry and his staff were a godsend in dealing with all the issues that we had to deal with. Well worth the money for setting up and maintaining care for the elderly

I just want to thank Ciro & his best efforts on my case and I’m glad to say that I am very content, he went above and beyond for our motor vehicle collision. The other party that hit us didn’t have an absolute thing (license, registration, etc. ) but Ciro fought and made sure my mother and I received a decent amount! It was a little wait but that’s to be expected, but he continuously made sure we were fine and grabbed every little information he needed to make sure our process went smoothly. Thank you so much and we appreciate you and your team !!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cherry Hill, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
