Worst experience of my life. Charged me way more then he first said and he did nothing but screw me over and kept postponing my court date because he had more important things to take care of he said. I was fighting to see my son more and had to wait 7 months to get to court bec of him. He Charged me 5000 to do nothing then wanted another 5000 to goto court. He was a horrible horrible laywer. My case was so easy I ended up not going to court with a laywer and i got 50 50 custody and got more then I asked for by myself. Don't waste your money on this guy.

I would not recommend this attorney. After paying $5000 he made my child support turn from $20 to $800, sent me an email telling me he was trying to contact me for more than a month when clearly the email was working fine and in zoom court he doesn’t know how to present himself professionally. One instance where he was representing me against my ex-wife, the camera was pointed only at his mouth from the nose down. Another instance, he had a picture of Scarface with a machine gun in the background in his office during court. Shop around.

Thee best lawyer in south jersey. I hired Fiore law group for my divorce case & restraining orders & I would not know what to do without Mr. Fioravante Bucci. He was always available for conversation & advice & throughout my divorce process I now consider Mr. Bucci my good friend. I highly recommend his services.

Ed is a very patient, kind attorney who helped me through a real rough time in my life. Everything was explained to me and he had to repeat himself several times because of my brain fog. He always contacted me promptly after leaving a message. Ed was a pleasure to do business with & highly recommended his services. Thank you Ed.

Janelle handled my case with great professionalism. Her knowledge of the law, thorough legal research, attention to detail, and legal writings were exceptional. Janelle worked tirelessly on motions for my case that all led to favorable outcomes. What I appreciated most of all was that she was always conscious of serving my best interests and quick to respond to any questions I had. I recommend Janelle to anyone as the lawyer who will best serve your interests.

Jenelle took over my case when my previous attorney left for another position. She knew how concerned and anxious I was. She helped keep me calm and focused. I believed in her and Mr. Schorr's ability to win my case. They did and Jenelle even checked in when it was over and I WON!!I would recommend Jenelle and the law firm

In the “interesting” world of family law Mr. Haggerty is 10/10 for what he does. I spent most two years going around and around with the same case spending capital on both a personal/feeling and financially. I decided to seek new council because after two years later no progress of any kind. Mr Haggerty took the time to hear me out read the previous orders and came up with a plan. He also was very good at explaining possible best and worst case scenarios. While they were obviously not a guarantee it felt good having an idea of what could happen. Within 6 months the issue was resolved, and I no longer receive harassing phone calls from the defendants attorney about frivolous things. If you need someone in family law I would highly recommend giving him a call, if you have another issue that he doesn’t handle at the very least he will recommended someone just as capable as him in that subject. Again I can’t stress enough if you need council start with Mr. Haggerty first, save yourself the frustration, emotional, drain and financial drain of having inadequate counsel.

I worked with Christopher during my bankruptcy filing. His warm demeanor definitely put me at ease. He is very friendly and answered all of my questions (and I had several!). I came in with a list of questions, and he patiently answered each and every one in detail, without hesitation. I've worked with quite a few lawyers in my life between divorce and custody issues, but overall Christopher Cassie was the best. He was very thorough and made sure all of our bases were covered. I definitely will recommend him to any one that mentions bankruptcy.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cherry Hill, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
