After moving from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, my husband and I had to update our wills. It was a little complicated as my husband is not a USA citizen, but Mark explained all the details and options thoroughly and would not allow us to push forward until he was sure we really understood the implications of the decisions we were making. Through out the entire process, Mark was very personable, demonstrating an acute wit and strong sense of humor.

I met Mark years ago, and was favorably impressed, but I never had an opportunity to work with him until recently, when he helped us set up a family LLC. The process was complicated because it involved a parent's estate plan, trusts, and family property. And was fraught with the usual sibling concerns about fairness vs. equality. Mark was prompt about getting us the information and documents we needed, and patient while family members worked through details of the incorporation and operating agreements. He was clear and concise in explaining concepts and terms we didn't know. He worked well with our accountants on matters where we asked for their help. Mark understood when we needed more time for discussion and knew when we needed a push to help us make decisions. Through this process, with his help, family members came to respect and trust each other better. We are happy with the outcome in more ways than we expected. Now that the LLC is in place, I look forward to working with Mark on my personal estate plan.

My wife and I recently had our will updated. It gave us an opportunity to compare our previous experience writing a will and working with Mark. Mark was extremely organized (but not inflexible) about taking us through the process of building a will. His approach made us feel very assured that we would not miss anything that was important to us. He was very attentive and responded to our questions and he encouraged our engagement in the process. After our first meeting with him, we had the draft of our will in a day or two. From then until we finally met to sign it, he responded to our phone inquires in a timely manner which made the whole process go very smoothly and quickly. In fact we had the draft if our will in one or two days. At the final review and signing of the will, he again went through every section to describe what it meant, even if it was a more boiler plate section. He wanted us to understand. A new experience for us was to be provided with a tabbed binder containing all the documentation necessary to execute our will. This will be most helpful for the executer who may not know exactly what to do. I must say there is no comparison between lawyer experiences. As permanent residents of the US, but not citizens, my wife and myself needed to have an estate plan to accommodate the tax and inheritance obligations of both New Jersey and the US. After each of us had completed and submitted a detailed questionnaire to Mark, we met with him at which time he carefully explained in a thorough and clear manner exactly what our options were and his recommendations/advice as to how to proceed. Less than a week after our meeting we each received via mail, a draft Will, which is the key part of any estate plan, for us to review. Both Mark and his assistant then separately and independently telephoned to ask if we needed an explanation or clarification of any part of its content. We subsequently returned to Mark's office approximately 1 week later, where again he went over each item carefully to ensure our complete understanding of the comprehensive Estate Plan they had prepared for us. My wife and myself left his office with the original and two copies of our Estate Plan with specific instructions as to what to do with each. We were both impressed and totally satisfied with what Mark and his team had provided us and would recommend Mark to anyone looking for an attorney with expertise and a great deal of experience in Estate Planning, who can also present his recommendations in a very clear and concise manner.
