My interaction with Don on my recent purchase of my home was excellent from the first phone call to the flawless closing. Don educated me along the way and kept me well advised. His fee was precisely as quoted, no extras, no surprises. He saved me several hundred dollars by getting the Title Company to accept an older survey. He was easily available by e-mail or telephone to talk through concerns. He gave good advice, yet listened to my concerns and needs. I could not have been more pleased with his service. He clearly exceeded all of my expectations. Thanks Don!

I initially met Don through the Chamber of Commerce. He provided top quality legal support to the Chamber, and impressed me with his expertise and commitment to quality. I was pleased to engage him on a commercial lease matter, and I highly recommend his work. If you need someone who is thorough and easy to deal with, Don is the right choice for you.

I would highly recommend utilizing the services that the Law Offices of Martin Springer provides. During a hard time within the family, Martin was able to handle all of the financial and legal documentation that needed to be filed. This allowed my family and I to deal with the emotional toll that a loss takes on an entire family. Martin was able to provide clear and concise directions on how the process would work and timelines in which things needed to be handled. There were many components that Martin educated us on that we didn't know existed or had to be done. I strongly recommend working with Martin Springer as you will get the best quality assistance.

Martin has handled my wills, estates, taxes and real estate dealings for over 20 years. Most recently he totally handled the sale of my primary residence in Princeton, NJ. His expertise and manner kept me calm during what could have been an overwhelmingly stressful process. His ability to know the answers and to know how to clearly handle my concerns made for a smooth closing. Over the years, I have recommended his services to friends and family and I will continue to refer him with heart-felt appreciation for his work.

This is our second time in 20 years using Martin's services to draft estate documents. In both circumstances, he has proven to be highly knowledgeable and extremely efficient. He took all the time necessary to clearly explain options and guide us toward the choices most appropriate in our particular circumstances. We always felt welcome and never rushed. I wholeheartedly endorse Martin and would not hesitate to recommend his services to anyone who is interested.

I have a 19-year-old non-verbal autistic son who I moved to NJ from California. To tell you that his case was one of the most difficult out there is an understatement -- simply ask his California representation. One of the reasons why NJ became the viable choice for our family was Staci--her expertise is unparalleled, her tenacity matched our families then went beyond. I've never experienced an attorney so invested. To top all of this, her positive never-give-up attitude kept us going. I'm here to tell you that we were in a dog-fight for over 10 years, 3 of them seemed so bleak that we were facing the worst version of options out there for parents and for our son. But every time we hit a dead-end, Staci would find some miraculous way around it -- I'm seriously describing super-hero versions of ways around the impossible. Most recently we had what would be deemed as a miracle result of our boy. He had started out looking at life in the worst version lock-down psychiatric facility with no options, and he is now in full-support, completely held and respected residential home, beyond all the nay-sayers, and no's that we had faced for years -- I can easily say that this was done because of Staci. I would tell you she's magic, but I'd be robbing her of the bow she deserves for all the sleepless hours of coming up with another way to solve the impossible, and then doing it!. She's brilliant. Anyone who has the luck of even a consult with her should count their blessings and hold onto every ounce of her years of honed advice and natural intuition.

Meeting and working with Staci was an absolutely phenomenal experience. I consulted with her twice before hiring her because she was so incredibly honest with a devotion to ensure her guidance was understood and that we made an informed decision about how to proceed. Staci was very clear about what our complaint against the school district might cost our family emotionally as well as financially but we trusted her implicitly, and for good reason. Once hired, Staci brought us very quickly to the exact resolution we wanted with our district. Her nimble understanding of the details of our very complex situation saved us what I'm positive would have cost us thousands more in dollars, and an unquantifiable amount more emotionally had we used a different lawyer. Staci is living proof that there are people who want justice for the special needs population, who've made it a career, not for ego, or self-interest, but for the true good of each student. My highest regards to Staci and team, I cannot recommend her highly enough!

I contacted Staci to help me with school issues I was having with my autistic son, who was terminated from a school for autism. I contacted her feeling defeated and felt empowered by the end of our conversation. She was kind, caring, empathetic, and real. She did more then we ever had hoped for and we are grateful.

Mr. Orron handled two matters for me. One was a challenging estate settlement, which he masterfully negotiated in my favor. The transaction that followed a year later was a real estate sale. The real estate sale was painless on my part and David Orron stayed on top of it, filling me in as needed... Worry-free professional service. I completely trust him and also had him draw up my health/will etc. papers. I highly recommend his professional services.

David Orron has been my lawyer for several years . He has been reliable, hard working , communicative , honest , and his staff is the same . He has handed all of the work I have given him with efficiency and even when faced with an unforeseen situation , he has handled that for me and charged me very reasonably especially considering the last minute snag that was not related to him . Highly recommend !

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the expected timeline for my case?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cranbury, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
