We had an excellent experience with Ann Marie at Cosner Law. She helped us through a very difficult situation following the death of a beloved family member. Ann Marie was always professional and kind. She responded promptly whenever I reached out. Her office staff was also very friendly and professional. I am very happy we chose to work with her.

I had a consultation with Ms. Stacey earlier today and she is very knowledgeable, helpful, and most importantly cared to not just hear but also listen to what my issue was. I truly wish I was referred to her and her office than the one I worked with for another issue. Just by speaking with her I have confidence in her and her office that my issue will be resolved in as timely of a manner as possible. Thank you again for your time today, Stacey.

Francesca is my attorney. She is honest and fair and has maintained the highest integrity throughout my divorce. She is efficient with time and money and constantly reminded me in almost every other call to be mindful of the money spent on her. She is an expert in what she does and very detail-oriented. You can depend on Francesca and can always have a candid discussion with her. She is big on compromising and closed my prolonged case economically while fighting hard for me. She has greatly supported me, my child, throughout the most challenging times and most complex divorce process. I couldn't appreciate her enough. One word—you can depend on her, and you can trust her. You tell her the situation; she will find an acceptable solution to you, protecting your interests and, surprisingly, to the other party. She has the highest level of emotional intelligence and Fantastic negotiation skills. She is rare in this field. I feel that the above qualities are scarce in this field. Monica and Wayne are paralegals to me, Monica, most of the time. They are fantastic with their follow-ups and are on time. Madison always answered the call with a great smile when called to the office, was always ready to help and be accommodating, and always made me feel like I was the most important to her. Brook is my billing team contact; she is always prompt and very courteous. With this team, I was always treated like a part of the family in the most challenging times of my life. Francesca, Monica, Madison, Wayne, Brook, and Rozin Golinder's law firm is ethical, honest, trusted, efficient, and empathetic. They became my daughter and me's extended family. I found them accidentally, but we were blessed to have such a great one. God bless you, Francesca, and your team. Thank you very, very, very, very much, and couldn't appreciate you enough!!!

My family and I have known and used Mr Todd Eder’s services for over 25 years. Todd has done an outstanding job from start to finish on three separate real estates closings and personal injury due to a car crash. He was also our probate attorney, and did a fantastic job. His work ethic is above and beyond. Todd always kept us in the light and was easy to reach when ever I had a question, or simply needing an update. Todd is extremely competent and organized. He filed everything in a timely manner. Mr Eder’s fees were very reasonable, especially for the quality of work that he does. Mr Eder is my family attorney and I wish him many more healthy years of good practice. I highly recommend Todd Eder, who I believe is one of the best in the business. He truly cares about each and every client that walks thru his door. Thank you Todd! Sam and family

Mr. Eder represented my son in 2010 for a DUI and with a legal brief that impressed the judge had the charge dismissed. In 2017 Mr. Eder had a Careless Driving 2pts. reduced to Traffic Obstruction 0pt.s and a lesser fine. We highly recommend him.

Edwin Rubin guided me through the entire naturalization process. He knows immigration law extremely well and most importantly, he communicates clearly at every step of the process, always returning emails and phone calls same day. He prepared me well for my interview and I would recommend him highly without reservation.

We chose Mr. Rubin to represent us to get permanent residency via marriage. Our previous lawyer tried to use the scare tactics, let us think the case is very hard and demanded a lot of extra charge. He also belittled us, and made us feel humiliated, that was when we decided to switch to Mr. Rubin. He treated us with kindness, told us the problem we had was not a big one at all, and charged us a very fair price. Everything he asked us to prepare is right on, the immigration interview was a actually pleasant. He made jokes with the officer, and everyone was in a good mood. Of course we got our green card on the same day! Thank you Mr. Rubin! We could not have done it without you!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of East Brunswick, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
